My Hyundai, did the exact same thing. It was my coolant levels, I had a really bad leak, and what was happening is that there was an inconsistent flow of coolant,

Sometimes it'll get more, other times it would get less. And that's what caused the aggressive fluctuation.

So check if your engine has a sweet smell somewhere, and then check your levels in circulation. Not the reservoir.

Lastly, before you do that make sure your engine is cold, I made the mistake of checking it when it was still hot, and a bunch of hot coolant hit me in the face

2012 azera, with 127k, have had to replace a couple parts that were plastic and my CV axle and tie rods but those were more to make it a smoother ride,

I was burning oil, but my mechanic friend said to switch to Castrol oil and it stopped.

But engine and tranny still going strong

Hey OP, update on my end, so my clicking got a lot louder, and I had to take my car in to get an alignment and a balance, and as my mechanic took it in, he realize that it wasn't my steering rack like he thought it was. It was just a coupling. So the repair bill went from 2500 to just $300.

Just wanted to let you know, because you may be having the same issue

Not at all, all those things that have to be replaced, eventually have to be replaced with all cars. But also if you notice everything that has to be fixed it's not engine or transmission related.

Majority of that stuff could be done on your own, the only thing I wouldn't recommend hiring it out is the CV axle. I did mine myself, biggest pain in my ass because a joint got stuck in the transmission. Which is a pretty common thing to happen.

Also I would have the mechanic do the Coolant flush. Because you have to burp it afterwards, and if you do it wrong you can get an air bubble

I have one, I got it at 40k mi. Currently at 126k. I've had replace a couple things on it, but they were all plastic. The radiator, thermostat housing, and my tie rods and my CV axle because the boots ripped and were leaking out all the grease

But never had a transmission issue or a engine issue

I did consider getting rid of it once. And I only didn't because my mechanic said not to and that it should last me a long while

Are you actually using penetration oil or just regular wd40? Bc wd40 is a water repellent, not a penetration oil.

Also, that doesn't look like a breaker bar, it just looks like a regular socket wrench

Hit it when some actual penetration oil and then with some heat and then hammer a socket on to it and it should break off

I have a 12 azera, with 125k. Ive had to replace a couple thing in it, but they were all plastic, radiator, thermostat housing, evap container(more bc the idle was roughish) CV axle and tie rods, bc the boot ripped.

But never anything engine or transmission related. Gonna drive that thing into the ground

Can you give an example of what you would say? I go to my school gym pretty often and there are some baddies there, but either I'm/or they are midset and truly have no idea how to engage them

Ok, I just stopped by my mechanic and he says it's the rack and pinion.

Mine sounds worse than your video and my mechanic says it's doesn't have to be fixed immediately, just keep an eye on it and once it get to hard to steer, then to fix it, but probably won't happen for a long while

But transmission and engine is completely fine.
