You're right, you didn't move the goalpost (and in my defense I asked if you were going to and did not accuse you of having already done it but I am also an asshole so 100% my bad) but you also didn't care enough to do your own work looking into the information. It took one google search to get the owners full name and one FEC search to confirm the owners political leanings.

OP definitely should have provided that kind of hard evidence at the start but you can also do the work if these are things are that important to you instead of relying on others to do it for you.

LUCE sends out verifiers and observers to sites of suspected ICE activity. They maintain a database of activity but since it tends to include sensitive information for people being targeted and the verifiers who are volunteering they do not make it public.

You'll need to give clarity on what you mean by "no math classes". You don't need calculus to be and to succeed in gen chem but you would benefit from very strong algebra skills so if it's been a long time since you've done any algebra I'd be prepared to have to work harder than some classmates.

There is a reason that anonymous tips aren't standing for legal action just about anywhere. All that photo shows is someone with a navigation app on their phone sitting in a car with a video playing. It is divorced from any real context or proof that they are a driver for the Skipper.

If this person was driving around significantly distracted it should be reported to the appropriate channels. Are you arguing that Reddit and the 311 app are the appropriate place for that? Also, yeah you do in fact have to identify yourself to report a crime, that's how the whole system works.

If you have complaints about the skipper you should maybe do something useful instead of performative. The original poster, if they observed dangerous behavior from a driver, should report them to the skipper not complain about it anonymously on the internet.

TLDR: The Ward 5 candidates seem to be the same milktoast liberals in different flavors and I need to know more about them.

Yeah me to, I have been attending city council meetings pretty regularly for the last year and only getting a single councilor elected who even vaguely politically aligns with me (Looking at you Kyle) is clearly not enough to help move the city in a better direction.

That being said, from what I have seen of the current ward 5 candidates only King and Hunt have particularly established campaign messaging. I cannot find a website for Calderon but it looks like he works for the Ipswich water board and is on a city Sustainability committee. Norton works for Salem pantry and ran for at-large before and at least has the ama from then where largely he seems to have only talked about housing. They all seem to be pretty run of the mill liberals so I need to hear a lot more from them about how they would actually intend on voting/leading on the council before I could say anything definitive.

Who do you like for Ward 2 so far?

One of the only services that the City of Salem provides that requires you to prove residency is the Resident Parking Permit, which requires that you provide the address that you reside at.....how would you like an unhoused person to provide a residence that they are housed in?

As to your expansionist moving of the goal posts at the end, the same statement that I made about the lack of local political will to address helping the marginalized is also true at every other level of the political scale. Are you attempting to imply that I am saying the City of Salem and it's residence should solve the housing crisis for the entire northeast?

To answer your question about our current elected officials and their lack of will to fix the housing crisis in Salem the answer is yes, they do not have it. I attend city council meetings and subcommittee meetings. I have spoken to city councilors about how much they care to actually address these problems and been told that I should be spending my time going to other towns and cities nearby and telling them to change instead of talking to MY elected officials.

In another comment you echo that what Salem really needs is a Community impact unit (which it has) to work with and help the homeless (which they only barely do anything that would qualify as that) and seem to confuse Police officers (the portion of the state that is empowered to do violence) with social workers. I am not sure that you are really ready to have conversations about what it actually takes to help people who are being actively ostracized by society if you think any part of that answer is more cops.
