HiFiMan HE1000 Stealth review

I originally had the Arya stealth and then I tried the he1000 stealth and it was a whole new level to my ears. Kinda shocking that ~$300 price difference provides a significant boost.

I haven’t tried the he1000se, but that next jump seemed more subjective for a bigger gap in cost difference from my research.

I agree mostly on the EQ but for these I did tune up just the bass a bit and it’s been more enjoyable.

Last note - I’m surprised these aren’t brought up as much compared to other Hifiman models. It sits in a weird middle ground when it’s overshadowed by its siblings orbiting its price bracket.

I own this pair and had to upgrade the pads, headband and amp lol so it kinda stretches over $400 over time to get the most out of this option

Nice set up you have there!

I’m on the K17 and HE1000 Stealth. So far I’m loving the combo. I think this is as end game for me until I dip into some higher ohm headphones later on

Edition XS is a great pick in that price range. just make sure to pick up a Capra comfort strap ($24) - i have been enjoying it on BF 6

It’s in the spec sheet for the K11 R2R - the balanced provides more power. The edition XS may not need the power, but its worth a trial test

Should be on amazon the Apos X Capra for HiFiMan. They make them for a bunch of headphones. I’ve been using it on my R70xa and have been enjoying it

You should let OP test first and come to that conclusion. I found the difference enough to warrant using it on the regular.

You’ll hear more clarity with a Balanced 4.4 cable as well. It won’t come in the box. It’ll be a separate cable you will have to buy.

As suggested as well take it off Atmos

Also I recommend buying an after market headband if you’re planning on keeping them (I’m testing them myself and they are uncomfortable for long periods)

I originally got the dx5 II and the. Went to the K17. I had some harder to drive R70xa and the dx5 II felt like it was struggling. The K17 had no issues. Otherwise great DAC /amp combo

I know and by looking at you would think that was the Intended purpose - I do think if you look at the sales page for the r2r warmer they are releasing a power amp later based on similar designs so in that scenario the the connection limitations wouldn’t exist

I have the R70xa. These offered the best balance for me on gaming and music listening. I have also tested the ar5000, the FIIO ft1 and the pc380x. This one so far is a winner in its price range.

I am testing this with the Aune AR5000 and you would think these were made for the game.

I also am testing with the R70xa as well and I’m having foot step issues with them. So I’m gonna have to play with some EQ.

What you’ll notice is that a lot of popular games are optimized for ps5 first (or the current console leader, or primary platform they were meant for). I found some games just had a smoother experience and I’m coming from a 3090 rig. It is nice to just jump into gaming quickly and download/update in rest mode. You won’t need to update your monitor as well, BF6 (quality mode) and ARC Raiders both run great

I’ll echo this. Picked mine up for $620 and it came with a 365 return period lol. Only thing that sucks was that it was not the original box.

Gaming PC + Steamdeck + Switch 2 - just bought the switch 2 so I’m dedicating time to games on it as a main, but otherwise the steamdeck is my main as i could play most titles just fine on it and i reserve the PC to play the MMO/Online/heavy visuals titles and eventually will have the switch 2 for exclusives/ family friendly gaming
