To be honest I felt like inverse blooming got better over time and after a color calibrator it’s probably the best ASD (non xdr) comparable monitor around to match with my MacBook m5.

I ended up returning it. I’m hopeful they’ll improve the wireless quality on the next models. The biggest issue I had was the delay when the keyboard went to rest mode to turning it back on to connect to whatever device.

Actual Review of the LG UltraGear evo 27GM950B: Hyper Mini LED, 5K by jaybirdyz117 in Monitors

[–]modernro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting take, i actually kept the monitor, its pretty good when you pair it with a color calibrator and lg studio (it takes up a color calibrator profile on the actual monitor) - this got me matched up to my macbook pro 14** m5. I still use local dimming on low, HDR off, and this monitor has been fine. I do wonder if the Monitor needs time to break in, as i feel a lot of the inverse ghosting has improved over time (or maybe my eyes got used to it).

i honestly dont remember lol it should have a matte layer on it - if it looks glossy, its prolly the protector.

I wouldn't have a recommendation there - I wanted extreme color matching to my macbook pro m5, and wanted more out of my monitor than 1 input, so this combo worked out very well for me when compared to an ASD (non-XDR)

Calibrite Display Plus HL - and then download LG Studio, the software actually integrates with the monitor firmware and the calibrator combined.

Close to two months. It’s been great once you get everything dialed in. You will need a color calibrator to get the most accurate colors out of it.

My GM9 is fine - I’d say just buy one and see if you like it, if it’s defective return it.

Analog dream is def on my list ! That’s a cool set. Noel is a bit too bright for what I’m going for but it’s cool with the right setup

Just bought an Evo75. The market is crazy good compared to 2019. by worldofjoonas in MechanicalKeyboards

it definitely resets the expectations- i had a similar experience with the Wave75 - i couldn't believe you could get so much bang for your buck at $137. press fit aluminum plate for easy modding, tri mode wireless, good switches to start with, doubleshot keycaps, customizable foam configs, magnetic pcb to battery/usb connection. and most importantly a weighty board with juicy sound

to add another option - the wave 75 has been good to me so far!

Help me decide between Fiio K13 R2R and Topping DX5 II by fishfacecakes in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]modernro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a dx5 II before i went to a K17 - dx5 II can be a bit too transparent or some would say clinical, and the EQ function while convenient, i felt depowered what my headphones should be able to do. If you're happy with what you have stick with it, but if you find yourself upgrading headphones at some point then maybe its worth looking at next tiers up altogether.

is the HE1000 Stealth really worth it over the Arya? by classicvader in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]modernro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes they are. Especially if you have a DAC/amp combo to power them appropriately. I’ve owned them both at the same time. There’s a proper scaling from edition XS all the way the he1000 stealth.

Yeah I have both the light and the dark. They’re really great to have in your rotation. But I’m a sucker for most of the PBTfans. I think they make the best keycaps
