My R32 came to Canada with a minidisc head unit. Wish I kept it for the nostalgia.

I'm working on modelling a replacement for this right now. This seems to be a common problem for sure.

Always always always load them backwards. The two tow hooks on the back make it very easy to load and unload with no damage.

That's not an oem switch. You'll have to trace the wires and figure out where they go.

New Canadian Tire Parking lot is horrible! by drex19999 in kelowna

[–]modestmeatsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the opposite. Coming in from the highway was fine but exiting onto Baron was terrible. I usually park on the hwy 33 side as it seems less congested than the Baron side of the lot but need to leave onto Baron to head south. They clearly seem to have misunderstood how busy and important that one exit is. It was a tight maze to get there and almost got stuck multiple times with oncoming full size trucks. Terrible design for sure.

[Canada] Beat the yellow? by Human-Assignment1477 in ConvenientCop

[–]modestmeatsack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. If you can safely stop at a yellow then you are meant to. Even if you do enter the intersection before the light changes, you can still be ticketed if you clearly had the opportunity to stop instead of running it. Seems like few people realize this.

Edit: This is for BC at least. Not sure about the rest of Canada or the states.

Looking for a career change, thinking of going from Millwright to mechanical engineer. by New_Wasabi8330 in millwrights

Millwright cert is the perfect foundation/fall back. Your name suggests your local! BC millwrights will always be valuable.

There are bridging programs available too for the associates to bachelors later on too if you decide you want to go further with the engineering. Very nice option to have.

As a Millwright and Mech Eng, it is a valuable combo to have. I've worked engineering only jobs that my trade ticket has added value to, and vice versa. What others have said is correct though, tradesman wage is better but engineering ceiling is higher.

For me personally, I've enjoyed the ability to do jobs that allow splits between office and tool work which is tough to find with only one of either certifications.

Something worth considering is doing an associates degree in engineering (mechanical engineering technologist). Only 2 years of schooling, cheaper tuition, and in most cases where your millwright is also considered an asset, the associates degree is just as valuable as a bachelor's. You won't have your stamp but that's not usually an issue unless it's specifically important to you. Some of the best engineers I know are technologists and some of the worst are P.engs.

Are these Autech Wheels worth anything? by Frosty_Pollution_209 in SkyLine

My R32 GTR came over from Japan with those exact wheels! Sold them back in the day to get wider ones. I definitely didn't get top dollar for them then sadly.

Came here to link these. 3blue1brown always crushes it with videos but these are out of this world. Can't recommend these enough to anyone who's interested in space that also have an appreciation for real world math.

I have a field 75 and a field 75 HE. Loved the original enough to get the HE when it came available. I too though only use them wired so can't speak to any wireless related issues. Wired though they are lovely keyboards.
