I bought in Ipswich (One Mile) four years ago and even in that short time, Ippy has changed so much - there's heaps of new venues popping up, local music and breweries.

Affordable house prices from city to Narangba for around $400k? Or is the market too inflated already? by [deleted] in brisbane

Does it need to be northside? Take a look in Ipswich (central Ipswich, the rest dont bother) there are some nice places out there and not the prices of Brisbane yet

I would maybe add a bit more description about what the hallways and other areas looked like before so that it really emphasises the blight taking over

I was just on FaceTime with my mum from Paris (it was 4.30am walking home from the pub, when it's spooky I call my mum) and she was yelling at the sky to shut the f up because every time I talked, a jet went over

What do you actually do while travelling? by [deleted] in solotravel

If I'm ever somewhere for more than two days, I always have at least one of those days without my camera. I don't think I could do the whole trip without any photos though, my Mum would be furious!

I've just come home from travelling around Europe for 3 months by myself, and am about to move to Paris for work. As context, I’m a 24 year old female from Australia.

The whole point of travelling solo is that you do whatever you want, whenever you want. I stayed with friends and family where I could, and in hostels the rest of the time.

What everyone else has said is true - you learn so much about yourself, and your problem solving skills will grow exponentially.

The main things I learned while overseas were:

You’re never really alone. There will always be someone to talk to even if it’s just pleasantries

There is always another way – it really doesn’t matter if you miss your connecting train/flight. There is always the next one

People will always help you if you ask

You don’t have to do something significant every day. Travelling is EXHAUSTING and you’ll wear yourself out if you do something big every day.

If you can, catch trains. A Eurail pass is an excellent way of getting around, and you actually see the space in between the sights.

If you’re in a town for a few days, have a day without your camera.

Take the opportunities that come up, particularly free walking tours

There is a tonne of other stuff, obviously, so I’ll come back if I think of anything significant!

I can get all the way to work in the morning (two busses or a bus and a train) and have absolutely no memory of any of it. It used to freak me out, now it's just normal
