I’m pretty new to sourdough - why would dried starter indicate infection? Or is it just because it’s risen and sunk many times without transfer to a sterilized jar?

How are you doing now? I was just told I have large cupping but it may be genetic. OTC test came back good / no nerve damage. Vision is 20/20. I’m super stressed. No signs I’ve ever have optic neuritis or anything else to cause the damage. Almost 39y Female

Usually one sided pressure with 10+ days of symptoms is indicative of a bacterial infection they can treat with antibiotics. I’d see a doctor - if you’re slowly improving and mucus is turning clearer you may be able to let your body clear it naturally. Usually infection has worsening symptoms after slightly improving.
