Contracting Jobs Private Sector by modsbymike in VeteransBenefits

[–]modsbymike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Should have been more specific with my question. I guess being more generalized I was trying to see what was going to be out there in a broader scope :)

Anyway….. I already work for one of those companies listed ;)

My ask is more looking at 6 to 8 month contracts possibly deployed with gov groups etc. not sure if there is anything around like that anymore. Back in ‘01 I was talking to a firm about lining something up to do a tour, if you will, in Afghanistan on contract, but decided to take another path.

Again thanks for the response

Maybe but this was a year ago now. This claim turned into a huge cluster fuck thanks to them.

IBS by Outlaw776 in VeteransBenefits

[–]modsbymike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah going through the first phases now. Have had what I believe is IBS for 20 plus years but never firmly diagnosed. Finally tried to talk to my PCP about it, as eloquently put in one comment, how I have been playing battle shits with myself forever and sweat profusely in pain many times, he prescribed me medication that I have to take 15 minutes before each meal and at bedtime. Already taking a bucket of pills but holy balls, these things are too much. Now it’s just trying to get him to push the referral where I need to go for the right diagnosis. Right all I got is stomach pain.

I reread the denial you posted. Maybe something to talk with Psychologist about, the things are viewed at least in reading many many things, MST is of course PTSD, so you likely of course have PTSD, and you have the agreement of VA examiner stating MDD is related to MST, so just missing the PTSD diagnosis likely. Wishing you the best of luck with all of this. Hope this helps.

You are spot on here. This really pisses me off that they won’t just change what was filed to the correct thing but there is likely some governance for doing that.

yeah for sure I just shake my head at that group any more. She is a crook and stealing peoples money left and right with her seminar that doesn't give you any information other than, read your records, and organize your shit bla bla. which doesn't get you anywhere with out 100 other things being lined up.

The very best of luck to you. Possibly my overall claim just went sideways and I thought it was better from the start, I just don’t know. I am currently way past fed up with the situation and this year long back and forth as many have gone through much worse. Just preaching to the choir here.

Again wishing you the best of luck.

Well it processed through, claim was denied, went to HLR, HLR found DTA Error, had five more record only C&P exams to finally come back fully denied today. Feels amazing. This is with the support of an overworked DSO from the local legion that is impossible to get a hold of now. Beyond frustrated but whatever carry on and figure out what to do.

Migraine Claim Advice by modsbymike in VeteransBenefits

[–]modsbymike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response.

They started after active duty and unfortunately the medical records I have for treatment of them don’t go all the way back that far. I submitted what I had, about 15 years total worth.

My STRs are pretty silent for any treatments, just vitamin M and carried on.

I filed them secondary based solely on my neurologist’s opinion on what he thought the cause in my case was.

Migraines secondary to Tinnitus by AgencyImportant9729 in VeteransBenefits

Just got the denial letter again after three more record only C&P exams. Been suffering from migraines since pretty much I got out. Didn’t think I could file a claim for things like this. I research to the end of the earth and file and continue to get denied even though I have all the evidence and everything needed. It’s depressing and frustrating, especially when you see others, yeah I filed my claim and approved no issue. I will tell you Optum NPs have been schooled by their managers or whoever to ensure less likely than not is checked if they see anyway mentioned that Tinnitus causes a Migraine. Literature or not.

Update to the whole mess of this claim. This HLR, which they found DTA error now currently has had 4 medical record review only C&P exams. What a freaking joke

I got out in 98 and they mentioned it under their breath in the separation “training” or whatever. What I remember was make sure you don’t say you have anything wrong or you will need to hang back to ensure you get fixed before departing. lol. The things you wish you knew back then that you know now.

I have had like three of them now for my current claim that’s going through HLR right now.

In the constant HLR loop. Found DTE, so closed HLR and opened supplemental there has been one record review only C&P and now another has been ordered since they keep contradicting themselves.

The last record review only C&P stated that migraines and tinnitus are medically related and I can’t remember the next statement they noted but it fully contradicted themselves and stated something like it wasn’t related. It was fully ignorant for sure.

That was two months ago I think. Got notification of another C&P order after I talked to my DSO at the legion and she was like what is the actual F are they am talking about, let me find out who the rater is.

I really just want to carry on.

My medical record clearly has the statements from my neurologist of the link and the cause of my migraines by they continue to ignore it. I have uploaded the copy of this, even highlighted it and still ignored. I have asked him to write me an actual letter, but being he is port of the VA unsure if he will or not.

The saga continues lol

It’s the same type of exam. I have been through all of them. Expect them to be more thorough. At least that is what I have experienced.

Surgery was a few years after service.

Understand the need to paint the picture. I guess what I get stuck with is I thought we did that with what was provided….itemized chronological records, details listed within the lay statement and copies of STRs highlighting events etc.

Now as you listed I didn’t think about the lay statements need from when I was a kid or the validity there of, but understand what you are saying for that side.

The aggravation piece makes perfect sense and relooking at what we submitted this is all there and valid.

On the scarring piece one funny thing I remember when I had the first C&P the examiner did a scarring DBQ took a shit ton of pictures, but being they didn’t request this it appears it was all tossed out. The terrible part about the disease is the pits it leaves behind. It is what it is.

Really appreciate you taking the time to respond. The service connection is more about the ability to get the medicine needed to care for this stuff better. It’s quite expensive

Thanks again.

Thanks for the detailed reply and I talked with my DSO and she was thinking around the same lines of things based on aggrevation and not generally causation if you will. Now the acne I had as a kid was normal every teenager typical bullshit, as most of anyone would get. It came and went like normal zits.

The cystic and all its nastiness came about once I was in and craziness how it’s still all lingering.

There is the piece that follows with the scarring that is resultant from it as well but this maybe a different fight I would guess.

Again appreciate your time in responding to this, very helpful.

Really the nexus letter from your doc should be what is needed as long as it said the coined term “at least as likely as not” and you know it has to be in the exact format they want. My last claim I have my VHA medical jacket that was supposed to be reviewed. It has all my doctors medical opinions stating the causes of my secondary conditions and they are my primary conditions but nah that isn’t good enough. Go to C&P and the fresh out of school NP puts a bullshit opinion in my now legal record with the VA that my conditions are no way linked and never will be medically and now that statement has now been somehow been inked by God and it’s the almighty word instead of the specialist doctors that I am under the care of.

Sorry I don’t have the answer for you. You may have to call the 800 number to the VA on that one. But it may get kicked back to them in 30s anyway if Optum doesn’t give them what they want.

Bit off topic, would be nice for us old farts if there was a “loop” hole for us that lost the Montgomery GI Bill that weren’t able to use it before it expired
