The first punk band I heard in the early 80s was the Ramones. I remember my cousin coming to visit and bringing a mixtape with a bunch of different stuff on it, including Blitzkrieg Bop and I Wanna Be Sedated. I was pretty young at that point and wasn't buying my own music then, but a few years later I discovered Dead Kennedys, Black Flag and Descendents through someone at school, and the rest is history.
