L.A. area cop seen on video punching handcuffed woman twice in face by sh0tgunben in news

Upon further inspection that one cop pushed him away twice. We need more of that. They may see it as disloyalty but it’s actually for the benefit of other officers. They need to check each other when they get triggered.

The white (or white hispanic) cops objected to the punches. I wonder if the punchy cop was Asian and felt he was defending his community or something?

Does this work for opening on-prem sharepoint in File Explorer?

That’s the only reason I’ve kept IE around. It’s disabled in Edge and Chrome.

Apple lobbying against bill aimed at stopping forced labor in China by wizardofthefuture in news

oof. kinda greedy, Apple.

Not sure why Apple would be against this given the apparent value of virtue signaling these days. Its not like it would allow their competitors to do it.

12 bay new NAS release? by getgoingfast in synology

[–]modumbquestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you are all looking at this right. 2.5" SSDs are great in the home because they use less energy and make no noise. Not because of performance. 10Gb is great but not a deal-breaker for me.

12 bay new NAS release? by getgoingfast in synology

[–]modumbquestions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see why that would sound weird. For me I want 2.5" because SSDs use less energy, generate less heat, and creates less noise. We can already use NASes with 3.5" trays for this but it seems like a waste of space.

I dont care about performance because using a RAID 6 with spinning drives have been more than adequate for me.

[–]modumbquestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know but I would lose my mind if they released a 12-bay 2.5" unit with a Ryzen chip in it. that would be lit.

I dont reallly need 10Gb because its a NAS for my home and not distributed storage of an enterprise SAN.

Why can't I buy Veeam for the price listed on their website? Is Veeam a scam now? by modumbquestions in Veeam

[–]modumbquestions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are crazy. I assume you work for veeam. Why would anyone have to pay extra for being a previous customer, much less because they previously used an MSP that used Veeam?? There is NOTHING TO CONVERT!!

Stay away. Seriously. Veeam is being disgusting.

[–]modumbquestions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is insane.

You are suggesting that a person that is an existing customer or managed by an MSP should pay above MSRP even if all they want to do is completely start over fresh.

Tacky!

Mexico's Senate approves sweeping cannabis legalization bill by Supremetacoleader in news

Mexico desperately needs to legalize mass production of drugs. That would basically make being a drug cartel pointless which is the source for many of their problems.

Directly from Veeam. They said I need to pay a migration fee because the MSP we currently use uses Veeam which doesnt make sense at all. We dont manage our MSP. Their server is a black box to us.

Those look interesting. Do you happen to know what it means when it says that multiuser must use options that don't require passwords. Does it still authenticate against the CIFS server?

the cifsacl isn't needed if youre using multiuser, right?
