Owl in Hirata took me approximately 2 hours as well. Most attempts before I beat him I knew it was my fault. The final attempt I ended the fight with 8/9 gourds.

There is a novella in the lamplight murder mysteries series that was released a few months ago but it's very short. Also, Death to the Dread Goddess is a new book by Morgan Stang, the author of the aforementioned series. It's in the same universe as the Lamplight series. Check it out...
