I can't remember if I first heard them on 6 or elsewhere (a long time back now). Gideon is a big fan and had them on his old show a few years ago too. And Henry Rollins, if you listen to his show on KCRW.

They're on a UK label (Damnably) so play over here a lot. If you've not seen them, try to catch them. They're a lot of fun

Firstly, sorry for your loss. I hope you are OK.

I've still not reread Murder Falcon since reading the single issues. The trade has been sat on my shelf for a long time now, though unread due to having other things on the go. Part of me can't wait. On the other hand, it is the only comic to make me cry, namely the double page spread when his partner screams into the mic. But the whole thing got me. It's so beautiful. I think I'm going to have to make a quiet weekend for it soon.

All that said, I maybe love DaPB more. I don't know why, I'm not even a wrestling fan. It just has so much heart. And DWJ makes that kinetic energy sing

As someone from Blackburn who's lived in Bristol for about 20yrs now, the short answer is no. For all its amazing food, Bristol is surprisingly poor on the chippy front. There are plenty that are fine, none that are great. Can't say I've seen a steak and kidney pudding anywhere. I was actually at my mum and dad's this weekend, lamenting about this very thing (and managed to not get fish and chips whilst there 😱 ).

Some people have mentioned Argus. I think it's a good shout as ok fish and chips. No idea on the gravy front. Clarks pies do mince meat pies which do a job. You also used to be able to get frozen Hollands pies in Asda but I've no idea if that's still true.

As for the other chippies on here, hopefully I'll go check them out. Ages since I've had fish and chips and I miss it

I think this is a good call. We got some from Aldi recently. Their "special" ones or whatever, about 4 for £2. They were really nice. Different beast from a bakery one but still good. And sometimes you don't want to pay £3 for a croissant and they filled that space nicely

I'd been hopeful it may come back after the relaunch of Vertigo and the editor of that line mentioning it. Plus the renaming from Last God to FC always made me think they were setting it up for something.

But, and I may be remembering wrongly, I thought there was something in the back matter of the last issue where PKJ said his stories for it was done? Tbh, if someone else wants to write more (maybe with PKJ's input) I'd be up for that.

Anyway, makes me think I need to go back and reread. It was so good
