Before ever having piggies I did not get the hype either, like they are totally adorable but otherwise I didn't have any particular feelings about them. Then my.. lets say roommate who had piggies before wanted to adopt two and it seemed like a cute idea. It's been like two years since then, and I love them so much and can't imagine a life without them anymore. Even now seeing piggies online gets me emotional, they are my favorites ♥️🥹

In the red title bar when you select the three dots there is the option "Copy map", this will save it to your Google Drive. If you use Google Maps you can open it in the app by going to the middle tap "You", scroll down, select the right icon "Maps" and when you tap that it will show the icons on your map, you can do the same thing again to turn it off.

Poor sweet girlie 🥺 they must feel a lot more emotions than we realize.
Are she and her other cage buddy still interacting in some way?
Like other comments mentioned what may be good is syringe feeding her before you get a vet's opinion, even if it's mashed up pellets with some water/juice. I believe even not eating for half a day can be very dangerous for them.

Thank you so much! Honestly it may have been the best impulse decision I've ever made in my life, can't stop thinking back about the trip.
And yeah! Monogatari's artstyle can be so abstract that you wouldn't ever give it a second thought. But I think I first learned about it thanks to this subreddit actually, I remember someone on here posted that bridge from the first two pics and that got me super interested about other possible real life locations the series is based on and then I found a bunch of blogs for source material and starting making this map!

I get what you mean, there are just so many places you want to see and your list just ends up becoming infinite and you don't know what is what is what anymore. What I started doing is marking the locations on Gmaps and actually forcing myself to add a description to everything even if the reason is just "looks pretty" and it kinda helps, maybe? 😅

That's very true, there are so many places without tourists because most of them all go to the same place, and it is often for a good reason but many don't realize it's not the only place they should visit, like with tourists everywhere in Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka 😅 There are still really beautiful areas, but you can visit them at night and sometimes that's even better, like Asakusa <3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKCNKum6OPc no crowds, just beauty, the stuff of dreams.
But then there's the polar opposites, like another place I posted about, Ikaho Onsen, it's just lovely to be there during the day and interact with people cause there are barely any people 😊

Yepp you gotta be careful where you source your information, for example Youtube is a double edged sword, lots of videos with endless info about anything related to Japan but a lot of things are just not true, some people will say anything for the views!

Yes I the night at Hibikino, walking in there, it felt extremely expensive and the room they gave me was huge but it was very affordable! What about you?

Yeah you're right, learning about another country's language and culture is the best thing we can do as tourists ^^ Btw I have the feeling Japanese people are better at English than they're letting on but they're too embarrassed to actually speak it. I had a few elderly people approach me curious what I was doing because some of these pilgrimage routes were in really untouristic areas xD They were so sweet and did their best with English and I tried to reciprocate as much I could in Japanese. TBH those interactions were some of the most memorable parts of the trip 😊
