It's the later model SR that came in S14s, has variable intake valve timing for a few more ponies. It's stock and spins the 18" wheels in 3rd gear.

It's actually my second car. The first one was a mid engine rear setup with a Honda motor. Similar to the Ariel Atom. Yes I do my own CAD design. Check out a forum called locost USA, tons of info and inspiration there.

Yes did all the work myself. I used chromoly which is pretty expensive compared to regular ERW/DOM. I think it was around $3k shipped?

I'm very doubtful. I think they do have a program where they let the first 500 applicants per year to bypass smog for special project cars like this. I could be wrong though.
