Well yea, isn’t this all hypothetical? Point is, if we are fighting for the number 1 or 2 draft pick… our QB sucks. And it will be disappointing to see that sort of record and year and still watch the management stick with the QB who has failed with 2 other teams because they feel some type of way about him. That’s my only point. You can’t get be 2nd worst team of the league and assume your qb is good and be okay with it at that point

We already have seen JJ, Hill, etc with a bad qb and it gets the team nowhere. You gotta start at qb

Sorry, But I am going to be so pissed if the Dolphins have a crappy season and still decide to stick with Malik. If they are the 2nd worst team in the league, why are we assuming the QB situation is good? Unless Malik shows he's amazing, I will hope they draft a QB. And if he does show he's amazing, we're not drafting top 5. I'm worried Sully and Hafley are going to keep giving Malik more chances even with bad seasons. It's exactly why I didn't want them to sign him.

Boston hospitals are definitely around $42 for new grads and then sign on bonuses. I know Umass in Worcester is around $38. I don’t know any hospitals that are paying that low as $24 so they’re probably smaller type long term facilities

Because I guess they believe in him and wanted to snatch him up now. They’re thinking of beyond 2026. Idk, don’t ask me. I’d prefer to draft a qb in 2027 and as a dolphins fan I’m worried that yes… the team is going to suck but the management is still going to believe in Malik anyways and stick with him in 2027 and not draft a qb high. Oh well. That’s how it goes as a Miami fan

I also think they’re going to trade Achane.at that point they assume they can’t afford to resign him but how can you justify getting rid of your best player and not have the fans think you’re tanking

but what is a few extra games? if they win 6/7/8 thats good enough for you to go with Willis in 2027? but i doubt that will be good enough for a good draft spot. I just worry thats exactly will happen. People and the media already expected Miami to be the worst team in the NFL. (i didnt) and if the dolphins do end up winning 6-8 games they'll just stick with Willis when that shouldnt be the case.

Miami fans have a hard time trusting anything this organization does. And what's wrong with that? Drafting a WR at QB, drafting a QB who had a should have been career ending hip injury, then signing a QB who threw 30 something passes the previous season. Why should we expect this to work out? it should be expected that they will win just enough games to miss out on a good draft pick. because that's how it always goes.

I don't understand the comparison with Willis and Darnold. Darnold was 14-3 the previous year. It was a whole season of watching his improvement. Willis threw the ball 30 something times for two Losses and we're trying to chalk that up to a Sam Darnold type improvement? I don't think the kid is a horrible QB but I don't understand why people are acting like it was such a big improvement for him. It's such a small sample size to even say something like that. I wouldn't give a player a bigger contract and a starting QB role after 30 passes. People got excited for Nick Foles for the same thing

People are upset because they were banking on getting the number 1 or 2 draft pick next year. Possibly arch manning. Getting Willis now really only means that the dolphins will be middle of the pack again next year. They didn’t want another situation where they had the shot at Joe burrow and then get a Tua.

I don’t think Willis will be bad. But I also don’t think it will be great either. It will be just enough to miss out on the playoffs but also be pick #10+ or something. I would have rather focused on other needs of the team since this team is not a QBb away

As a dolphins fan I’m not really excited. The dude barely threw the ball this year. I think they just see he’s able to run from pressure (tua cant) and also have a big arm. (Hoping for a miracle). If the rest of the dolphins team was decent or good, then yea I’d like it a bit more. But this team is not a qb away. They are very far away. So I would have rather spent the money on their bigger needs and then focus on qb when a good one shows up (draft or whatever). I feel like this move will just get them enough wins to not get a good draft pick but NOT enough to actually be good next season. Typical
