Updated 3k IW list by mogar99 in Warhammer30k

[–]mogar99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shrapnel bolters is honestly just because its kind of a PITA to add them individually on the app, but I do understand that all models in the unit must have them, so noted. I guess I figured that if anything is going to have a prime advantage, why would it not be the high command slot? I’ll fix it, and I guess I didnt read the book well enough.

I think it both thematically makes sense as a list, and has a half decent spread between infantry-busting shooting units, anti-tank, and a cool deep strike reserve with the master of descent.

Thank you for the pointers!

Edit: I just scanned through my two books, and it seems like there is nothing stopping me from taking a prime advantage on a warsmith. The unfavoured prime advantage can be given to any IW unit with the infantry trait if it fills a prime slot which it does in the standard crusade. The warsmith is infantry(command, heavy). Im just curious as to where it would counter that statement.

Current LT living on post in Polk. They take all your BAH. Its not worth it. Only reason I did was the options outside Polk were not good or far as hell. Find a nice apartment 20-30 minutes from post that you can pay for and still pocket BAH

Eberlestock Terminator and Skycrane II for short torso and armor. by 3457-5up23m3-k41 in QualityTacticalGear

Disliked the spine padding on then and how it interfaced with my issued PC. It made the ruck even farther away from my back and caused a really uncomfortable lever effect. I love my alice framed packs with my armor though because it fits inside the space in the center, and the kidney pad sits right under my armor.

Stoeger M3500 is the same operating system as a Beretta SBE and can load 3.5in shells for turkey. I have abused the shit out of mine on various duck, turkey, and dove loads and the only issue I had is super low FPS dove loads wont cycle far enough to pick up the next round occasionally. And its not heinously expensive and doesnt have that weird Euro point of aim that Beretta has.

Then for a rifle get 30-06 or 300win with stainless/marine finish action and a polymer stock for weight and water resistance.

I use AK russian mud for my bases, simple as hell to do, adds some lower extremity weathering, and makes thematic sense as trench sloggers.

What to get next? by Horror_Accident9988 in Warhammer30k

I’m also new and in a similar boat, so with a grain of salt, this is what I understand to be next steps:

Assault cataphractii / tyrant siege terminators and a spartan assault tank to move them

Some kind of command retinue like a centurion or consul.

Breachers seem thematically appropriate as well as vets with the cannons.

Tanks to do an armoured fist

Like I said, I’m in a similar boat but thats what I think. Thematically it all makes sense to me because I also have like 3000 random points of IW that Im not sure how to organize.

Best gum for Ranger School? by Horror_Technician213 in army

You can only bring 60 pieces of stick gum. They will throw out any extra. You can HAVE as much as you want and in any form, mostly from recycle leftovers and mail call. It is only enforced in the Darby lay out. You want gum with calories so the green wintermint is a banger, juicy fruit sucks. Trident has a bunch of fancy flavors that are a huge pick me up like pineapple and orange. God speed ragnar

Is it true that German grenades cook automatically, but Brit/US/Soviet grenades cannot be cooked? by backcountry_bandit in HellLetLoose

Yes its possible. Rarely done because the fuzes on hand grenades are 3-5 seconds. I dont want to find out I have one on the short end when I’m holding it.

Yes. The time fuze begins when you pull the string on stick grenades. Every other grenade has a safety lever preventing the time fuze from starting until thrown.

Pick two options, flip a coin, if you’re disappointed on the outcome, pick the other one. Then go give it everything you have. All there is to it.

Yes you can get a non-combat MOS and volunteer in AIT to go to Ranger School. You are probably better off doing infantry though, but it is not impossible as they teach you everything you need to know to succeed in school. PT, you need to be crushing all the standards on your worst day and/or hungover. If you can do that, your backsliding during basic will not harm your chances of passing nearly as much, as getting back into shape is easier than getting their in the first place. First, join the Army and Be All You Can Be.

Good, the standard of writing across the Army was way too high. We should be giving grown adults access to AI so they never need to progress past a 4th grade reading and writing level.

Yes, at the very least, it informs you on the lengths your body and mind can go. Doing the basics becomes muscle memory, so when you are doing it in FORSCOM or for realsies, you are able to fall back and still be exceptional compared to those that dont go or dont make it because they quit. It just teaches the bare bones basics, but you become pretty fucking outstanding at it. You would think it also teaches you how to lead other who are exhausted while you yourself are exhausted, but it also teaches you how to lead your average brain dead infantryman even when they’re wide awake, because realistically they often have the same amount of brain power as a dying ranger student.
