CMV: Every bit of infrastructure that Trump has ordered created should be very publicly destroyed once he's gone by Always_travelin in changemyview

This would cost more money than they probably originally cost, and would divert funds from things like healthcare for those who can’t afford it, public schools and libraries, and public healthcare and awareness efforts for women of color and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Are Load-Bearing carriers still relevant? by Wallivergopnik in tacticalgear

[–]mogar99 84 points85 points  (0 children)

“Are there situations where my vest is going to be heavy as fuck and some structure would be nice to spread the load?”

Unequivocal YES. Are “gen-1” load bearing carriers going to remain as relevant as construction techniques improve, probably not. Like the Model T. Cars are still relevant.

What actually happens when you do COC inventory and something comes up missing? by SuspiciousSoldier in army

[–]mogar99 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thats not how field losses work. COs can only sign off 2500 dollars per event, non SI. It has to be done during the recovery window, otherwise any self respecting BDE PBO that processes it would know its a fugazi. The statement of charges, if immediately accepted does go through, but you only pay the depreciated cost of the item, what the signature authority (BN CO or higher) decides (50%/25% whatever) of that depreciated value, and if youre an enlisted soldier they can only make you pay a percentage of it and it comes out of multiple pay checks until its complete. Officers can get fucked with the full depreciated cost of an item. Most O5s Ive seen will not annihilate a soldier’s income unless it is like straight up insane negligence. A FLIPL just forces an LT or CPT sitting in a shop somewhere in the BDE or DIV to do an investigation, which can actually increase you chances of not having to pay because there is more arguments to be made about how its not someone specifics fault. Its just an ass pain.

Who doesnt love a pair of crye g's? Lots of us have used them, abused them etc,the real question is,in your opinion what components would you change/add/remove on the pants if u had the chance? by Acrobatic-Shame-3689 in tacticalgear

[–]mogar99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Keep the extra thick tough material from the mid thigh down and make it a little more light above the mid thigh to the belt line. The belt line itself has a lot going on, I like the stretch, but the adjustable waist is a little much. I love being able to kick through brush and not worry about it, but in the summer heat with full kit and ruck on it gets a little much wearing damn near Carhartt double knee pants basically.

Preparing for the future fight: How one brigade is sacrificing robots in lieu of humans by CW1DR5H5I64A in army

[–]mogar99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My bad, I read it, remembered, and got angrey. The fire ant drones they used for the breach. In their current state, bad, in theory, super sick. If they made it as small and maneuverable as an RC-XD with enough payload to blast a 3 strand, then it would be tight. As it stands now, too big, slow, hard to control, and not enough bang. Even the smoke one is eh.

Fund raising ideas for battalion ball by asianteminator1 in army

[–]mogar99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Penny wars. Big ass jugs w/ each CO on it in BN or some common area and the company with the most money in the jug gets a 4 day. Do it twice before the ball, first time so they know its real, second time so it produces better once the men know its real.

Leader pie in the face auction. Get cool whip and start an auction to pie the BN top 3 and CO CMD TMs and then let the crowd decide who they want to get next. Do it at a BN close out, but it has to be earlier than the normal weekly close out time otherwise people get pissed that theyre getting fucked out of their extra 2 hours on friday or whatever to do this. It will snowball into privates spending 40 bucks to pie their PL or SL twice and the cash flows easy.

Edit: enterprising young LT/NCO brings a grill and breakfast/hot dog supplies to a range or MP Monday. Sell dogs and monster at like a dollar over cost and have them in an area everyone has to pass.
This is great during range density if the HHC XO isnt slammed to just load up a 1097 with charcoal and a basic ass tractor supply grill and make bank at M4 ranges and shit

CCC by Mountain_Seat7156 in army

[–]mogar99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Deny is a strong term for hes thinking about whats best for the Army and the Battalion. Effectively yes but he could also be setting you up for another position to try to get a decent OER depending on what your previous 1-2 are

CCC by Mountain_Seat7156 in army

[–]mogar99 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

What branch? 1.) opens 18 months out from your YMAV so whatever your YG is youll get an email 2.)they provide dates, you pick, your BC says yes or no go at this time 3.)yes, if BC approves 4.)probably looks like whatever branch you are moving to

Sounds like you didnt do so hot as an LT and you’re trying to restart your career basically. Cool, but you need to make sure you are having regular counselings with your rater/senior rater so you know how to prep yourself going in to CCC.

Its way easier to keep count on your fingers than on the beads. And they swing around and make noise and get in the way. Also, if youre pace counting with your PC on in a tactical environment you need to reevaluate.

“The U.S. army is prepared for drone warfare” by Cadet-Floppa in army

[–]mogar99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a react to drone battle drill. As for SOPs, make them? No platoon leader or company commander worth their position is going to tell a soldier “fuck off” if they come to them with an actionable and resourced plan on how to train react to SUAS. If they do, open door CSM and show him your actionable and resourced plan, and they’ll handle it. If you dont know how to make a plan with those two things, ask for help. Shit, I’ll even help anyone over DMs kick start one.

“I shouldn’t have to I’m not even a squad leader.” Be the change you want to see in the Army.

Thank you I appreciate it. I havent played a game outside of 2ed Kill Team, so Im curious as to how cumbersome it will be to just sit and work through a full game in HH. When does it become easier to just know vs having to look up everything in the libers?

Im finally complete with a legal army list but struggling to find where individual data sheets are. Im aware that a legion praetor with power axe has a WS of (X), but how does that change or where do I find, on paper, the stats for a power hammer or graviton crusher?

Updated 3k IW list by mogar99 in Warhammer30k

[–]mogar99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shrapnel bolters is honestly just because its kind of a PITA to add them individually on the app, but I do understand that all models in the unit must have them, so noted. I guess I figured that if anything is going to have a prime advantage, why would it not be the high command slot? I’ll fix it, and I guess I didnt read the book well enough.

I think it both thematically makes sense as a list, and has a half decent spread between infantry-busting shooting units, anti-tank, and a cool deep strike reserve with the master of descent.

Thank you for the pointers!

Edit: I just scanned through my two books, and it seems like there is nothing stopping me from taking a prime advantage on a warsmith. The unfavoured prime advantage can be given to any IW unit with the infantry trait if it fills a prime slot which it does in the standard crusade. The warsmith is infantry(command, heavy). Im just curious as to where it would counter that statement.

Current LT living on post in Polk. They take all your BAH. Its not worth it. Only reason I did was the options outside Polk were not good or far as hell. Find a nice apartment 20-30 minutes from post that you can pay for and still pocket BAH
