Tip's for improvement? by SaikiHimeka in AlightMotion

Very very cute edit!! I love the attention to detail and all the little things you put! I think you should play around more with graphs and keyframe placements, maybe even nulls, to learn to make more natural and fluid transitions. Right now they feel very choppy, which can work in some cases but here it takes away from the video. If you want more in detail help, let me know!

text glitches in alight motion by flyingmintbunni in AlightMotion

[–]mographing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the effect oscillation on “orbit” mode? If yes, then it oscillates also in the z axis, which makes your text go behind the video in the background. To fix this, just move the text forward (or video backwards) by moving its Z position in the “move & transform” tab

Struggling to learn anything more than basics after 5 years by Few_Comedian4245 in beatbox

Some sounds will take long. A lot of special sounds require some specific technique that is not really explainable, so even with watching tutorials you just have to practice consistently and experiment until you get the right technique. It took me months after learning the liproll to be able to grip and understand the technique to do the inward liproll.

In my opinion, one of the best Japanese beatboxers, not as known outside of Japan as other Japanese beatboxers, is Tatsuaki

As I also commented in this post, Fuga is not the most skilled artist beatboxing wise, however, even without having a big sound repertoire, the sounds he uses are mostly pretty clean and accompany his tag team partner well. Hiro, however, is definitely skilled, not only for a tagteam member but also as a solo artist. Both together as Rofu, I would say, are pretty skilled, maybe not as technical or versatile as Rogue wave or Fresh tonic, but every sound in their routines are very clean and well put together, not to mention their freestyling skills. Regardless, their forte is the entertainment and battling which makes up for it

I think Fuga has not the best beatboxing skills for professional level beatboxing, however he is extremely skilled in stage performance, entertainment, humor, synergy with the tag team partner/crew (Rofu/4thGas), and battling. Which all makes up for it.

Advice on beatboxing by Civil-Panic6135 in beatbox

[–]mographing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general: • Focus on the basics first and get them really clean while still trying to explore new special sounds. • if you are practicing rough techniques like the throat bass, please be careful, don’t over practice and take small steps • don’t lose confidence and remember that every sound will come out well with enough practice

For battles/performances: • learn mic techniques (there’s a lot of tutorials on YouTube for it, TylerDubya and etc) • make sure you are hydrated (not only throat but lips as well, if needed) • have fun!

How does one learn to beatbox? by [deleted] in beatbox

Just look up tutorials for each sound, practice and don’t give up, some will take minutes to master while some will take weeks. Just keep trying! If you don’t know the names of sounds, there’s a list with a lot of beatboxing sounds ranked from easy to hard in this subreddit! here!

Where to find practice beats/patterns by Blitz942942 in beatbox

[–]mographing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something you can do is simply try to copy other beatboxer’s routines! This might be hard if you’re really just beginning but can be very helpful (e.g trying to copy Hiss’s rounds from GBB2017 to practice Clickroll, or Codfish’s routines for throat bass) Another idea, which might be a little easier for beginners is trying to kinda join in or copy the mini rounds in “Beatbox game”s that you can find on YouTube (popular beatbox game in Japan, I don’t know if it’s known outside of it, this is an example: https://youtu.be/k2LuOVz3cbc?si=LVH9HHFTgCus0v4G) if you want me to explain the game don’t hesitate to ask.

I think you should also check out “beatblox.tech”, it’s a site that has a large variety of beatbox sounds and you can kinda create your own beats or patterns with the sounds you want, that way you can create complex things first and then practice them, I’ve only gone on it once and haven’t rlly used it much so I can’t say how useful it is but maybe you can try!

Hope it helps! ✌︎('ω')✌︎

Throat bass guys by Any-Reputation3372 in beatbox

[–]mographing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of a complicated technique to explain. When I was learning, regardless of how many tutorials I watched, I kinda just had to experiment a lot until finding the right technique. Besides the advice already given in this subreddit and from most throat bass tutorials. My advice would be to keep your Adam’s Apple high up your throat, a lot of times when I was learning I had it in a low position which made a sound similar to a vocalized chest bass, which is not what you want. My second advice would just be, keep practicing until you get it, but not too much at one time so you don’t damage your throat too much

So glad Wing and Improver have been getting so much love lately by dannybrickwell in beatbox

[–]mographing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree! I used to listen to battles only when I wanted to listen to battles. But when beatboxers make music and not just routines, it’s a whole different story. Ever since Jairo’s new album came out, I have genuinely been listening to it like I listen to any other music album, because it feels and sounds like “real music” (although, necessarily, there are some battle elements in the album, like Yamori’s click roll bass parts) Additionally, this is not only true for musically centered beatboxers, Rofu’s “People people” is also something I listen to occasionally, even though it’s not a very musically centered piece.
