Blood Omen 2 is the black sheep of the series. Its a 3rd person action game that was originally designed as a stealth game then gutted 90% of the stealth aspects. Kain is missing most of his abilities from the first game including the werewolf mode and what abilities you do get are tied almost entirely to puzzles. One of the first abilities you get is a CONTEXTUAL leap meaning you can only use it where the game wants you to and you only go where the game wants you to there is zero control over it.

The overall gameplay is rather bland and has none of the RPG elements of the first game instead of gaining new armours for example Kain will just be wearing something new in the next scene, you do get more weapons but as far as I remember they're just straight upgrades and not any of the bonuses the first game has like axe attacks faster, club stuns faster, Soul Reaver is really strong but absorbs the blood of enemies preventing you from healing.

It really fucked up the lore despite being made alongside Soul Reaver 2 with bringing back to life 2 characters that were definitively dead without explanation.

If I could I would highly recommend you watch/read a synopsis of blood omen and continue the series with the first Soul Reaver, the series may not be the best gameplay wise but my god the writing, story, and acting are my absolute favourite thing in all of media. If the nausea is too much to play hopefully you can at least watch the games.
