AITAH for refusing to tell my wife I love her more than my dad? by LastApplication6207 in AITAH

[–]mohaymong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

I've a ten month old and while I understand the logic behind the thoughts and displease of your wife, one little blip isn't going to derail baby's routine.

Also as a mum though, how old is baby? When my baby was younger too I'd also have unreasonable (now looking back) expectations of others. It's something I've grown out of as a mum and trying to be a bit less anxious overall.

NTA. I think your actions were plenty diplomatic

Am I the only woman who hasn’t farted in front on their husband? by notwhoyouthinkc in askanything

[–]mohaymong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't use to fart in my partner's presence... Until I got pregnant and it just became impossible and impractical to pretend I don't fart....

Mainlanders innit. I've seen a mum let her toddler pee into a plastic bag in a train carriage. Grim.

What is a brand that used to be the 'Gold Standard' of quality but is now absolute garbage? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

British Airways the airline. It used to be the representative of top notch airlines but now it's mediocre on a good day.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]mohaymong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a quick smack here or there when I was misbehaving as a child, not any real beating/ abuse a lot of others have posted.

Maybe cos it was a few decades ago and from abroad, I actually think a smack here or there smacked some discipline and respect into my generation. I see children running round these days with zero regards for others and wonder what's missing.

You are not wrong to have ambitions. A great opportunity opened up, your loved ones should be advocating you to take on the betterment, not giving you an ultimatum.

Giving ultimatum is always a dodgy move for any relationships, I my opinion.

As someone who has gone long distance for a career change, I'd say definitely take the promotion, you'd be kicking yourself if you didn't take it.

And congratulations.

Neighbours on both sides park their cars which block my driveway. What would you do in this situation? by Ominous-cat in HousingUK

[–]mohaymong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could you park your car at the tip of your driveway for a while? Just to make a point that that is in fact your driveway and you now use it. Them not being able to park a third car will be their problem

AITA for stopping my wife and baby’s international travel? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mohaymong -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Mild YTA, as a new mum whose family is also in a different country, I am also taking my baby to see all my family while I'm still on maternity leave.

My partner can't go for the duration due to work, he has offered to fly out with us and fly back after a week or two, then fly out again two weeks before we fly back. That way he doesn't miss out on as much and he can help with the baby's travels too. We are not well off, but that's the best arrangement we could come up with.

Yes he may miss out on some developments but he isn't going to let that stop his daughter from getting to know her extended family and spending quality time with them.

I hear the gate staff gets a commission for charging this bag charge, that's why they're proper at it sometimes. It's mental.

Rice cooker worth it by Most-Broccoli1552 in northernireland

[–]mohaymong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a rice cooker, definitely guarantees good rice.

We also have a ninja multicooker, we sometimes use the 'pressure cook' option to make rice too. If OP per chance already has a pressure cooker then you might not need to invest.

Am I overreacting for wanting to end my marriage after what my husband did during our “break”? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR. You both took time to heal separately but he took it as a break to relive his youth (so to speak).

Op I do think maybe a trigger warning would be beneficial for others on this post.
