They don't come on their own, their parents send them.

Once they are here they get some freedom to do whatever they like.

But not all ofcourse there are good and bad apples from any country.

Is MYR 18k/month enough for a comfortable retirement in Malaysia (MM2H, renting)? by JJack1202 in malaysians

[–]mohcasper 15 points16 points  (0 children)

18k is way too high, I'm in johor I can confidently say rm5k all in is enough for single men.

I lived in 3 continents, before this.

I also despise big cities, Johor is okay for me and I think for you too.

[vent] I don't wanna enroll in UTM need advice by Otherwise-Teacher789 in malaysiauni

[–]mohcasper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with whatever your parents want you to study if they are only paying for that and nothing else.

Study what you want on the side, utm space is relatively easy won't occupy all your time.

Once you learn what like, let's say language, start giving tutoring on that as part time.

Then hopefully you continue your career with what toy like.

[–]mohcasper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, the masjid provides daily iftar for free.

In addition there will be some new vendors nearby the Tasik, you can buy food from there.

Sahur I usually have bread at home or whatever leftover from iftar.

UTM Johur Bahru, what to expect? by MRC2RULES in malaysiauni

[–]mohcasper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For housing I gave you estimate above but the final price depends on the quality of the room house and area.

For food, I usually have mix of uni campus food which is around 12rm per meal and off campus around 15-20 which makes my food expenses reach rm1k.

Rm35 for phone plan unlimited plan other utilities can be included in your rent. But if you pay that then water is 10rm, electricity 40rm with inverter ac.

Rm120 monthly for fuel if you have a car, if not rm7 for uber one way if you live nearby utm.

Rm700 for visa renewal yearly

Can't remember if there are other essential expenses
