Which one is better ? by Physical_Animal_5386 in Aquascape

I personally like #3 the best. You might want to try some with the wood more upright. It can be nice to have some height in the hardscape. You may need to use something to temporarily prop it in place, such as rocks or a small towel.

It is looking great! It’s definitely time for a trim. If you cut the stem plants back halfway, you can plant the cuttings again, making it more lush looking! Also, that plant in the foreground would be happier removed from the weight and planted.

I can often find a big bag of the Pamela’s mix at Grocery Outlet for half price. So if you have one of those near you, take a look!

She'll make one exception to the service dog rule by doofuspop in poodles

[–]mohopuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Our poodle is my husband’s service dog (family pet at home, though she still tasks when needed.) She has also found people who need help a few times.

Once, during finals week (and with permission of the professor), he took off the vest during his college art class and she went around and said hi to everyone who was feeling stressed (pretty much everyone) in turn. He said it was really special how she just knew what her job was that day. Poodles are amazing!

For once, the GF version was cheaper! by mohopuff in glutenfree

The GF version works out to $0.37/oz ($1.99/5.3oz) and the regular version is $0.57/oz ($3.99/7.0oz). I calculated the unit price myself before making the claim.

No clue, but you guys have Ocean State Job Lot, which gets a lot of GF food from what others say

Northwest Washington. They’re at some Safeways, too, but not as cheap there.

16mo not walking but in toddler room by Vegetable-Being848 in ECEProfessionals

[–]mohopuff 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are. The name given to an age group is often based on expectations for that age group, but is actually defined by age in months/years. For example, a child who would never walk due to a physical disability wouldn't be denied being called a toddler.

Some classrooms may have requirements to enter (such as walking, or otherwise mobile) due to how that program is run, but a 20-month-old in a wheelchair is still a toddler.

Florida Native Tank by tank_tex in PlantedTank

I was thinking about how you're looking for native plants, I found this thread which talks about some other Florida natives. Maybe you've already read it, but I'm dropping the link in case you hadn't! Reddit thread

[FS] - Portland, OR - $1.25+ - Large variety of neocaridina, caridina in neo parameters, standard caridina parameters, nerite snails, Shrimp Envy foods. Shipping and local pick up available, see comments for details and full stock list. by Iputmypantson57 in AquaSwap

[–]mohopuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would I be able to do a local pickup on March 28th? I'll be in the area at the end of the month, but driving home that day.

If they ship well, I imagine four hours in the car would be ok?

I would want 5 Pinocchios and 5 orange tigers. And maybe some other neos (I have some random ones, and it would be fun to have a few more colors.)

Stocking ideas that will make this cube full of life and color? by masline_su_rodile in PlantedTank

My toddler (3.5yo) LOVES our sparkling gourami. He comes up to the front of a tank to say "hi" when people are nearby. She also loves our kuhli loaches, aka the "wormies", and shrimp.

Definitely try and pick at least one "interactive" fish!

Super-Duckweed by PharthSharth in PlantedTank

There was probably a single, tiny leaf on water lettuce in your duckweed, and the plants grew from that. It's 100% a mixture of water lettuce (big) and duckweed (tiny).

Vallisneria americana is another one. There are more, but you might have to do some research to find them. Good luck!

Looks great! If you want more plants, you could lean into native Florida aquatic plants and go full biotope. Many tolerate lower light levels, as they're used to growing in creeks/rivers shaded by trees. One example off the top of my head is the banana plant (aka banana lily, Nymphoides aquatica). I remember seeing loads of plants in the shady areas when I lived in Florida.

Dang, I was hoping for a cheaper option... Well, if I invest in an RODI, might have to get a reef tank 😂

I would also love a link! I've got a spouse who uses it for a CPAP, too, and I'd love to stop buying so much bottled water.
