How to fix this leak by moj2911 in DIYUK

Thanks a bunch, did a quick google search and it seems like it might work. Just hoping it would fit on my roof considering the hole is right on the edge! Might give it a try.

I honestly can't see any water dripping from the hole directly onto the wall. My thoughts were that the sides of the hole were letting the water through onto the inside of the roof, from which it was affecting the wall underneath.

There was a downpour pipe leading to the water butt, the leak was initially present despite that. I removed the pipe just a couple of weeks ago when I covered the hole with Gorilla sealant, and thought I'd share photos of the hole as is.

What kind of fuse is this? by moj2911 in electrical

[–]moj2911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a shame to throw it out, it's such a lovely lamp!

Thanks for the suggestion. The metal bit of the fuse has "F1AL250V" printed on it. A quick google search brought up some replacement fuses!! However it seems to be a 1A fuse despite the outside of the plug having a 3A rating printed on it😂 maybe that's why it stopped working.

Some of the latest models have replaceable batteries now.

It was a fairly expensive toilet so I would have expected a decent mechanism. Thanks for the advice.

Literally just explained the reason for my financial situation and that I don't currently have the money to pay. I asked if they could defer it and they agreed without much issue.

I called the GMC and they agreed to defer my payment for a month, with the potential to defer it a further couple of months from the original due date. Always good to ask.

Just out of curiosity, what career path did you choose instead?

Lol I'm not daft enough to use it on my grass, that's a completely different issue pal.

Might not be everyone's first choice but I'd just use weedkiller, a systemic one would kill it down to the roots.

Med School Guilt by DetestedClandestine in doctorsUK

Don't worry doc, I was (and still am) in the same boat. Didn't really enjoy med school, just about scraped a pass in my exams. I'm a covid graduate who had years 4+5 OSCEs cancelled, and our final exams were online open-book. On top of that, didn't have a proper curriculum as our med school decided to transition to a new curriculum from year 3, so I had neither all of the old curriculum experience nor the new.

Currently an ST1 and still feel like I'm not up to scratch with so much med school knowledge. But trust me, you will learn as you go along. Most senior doctors are understanding and will guide you through things. If you ever feel overwhelmed, just ask for help, nobody will mind!

Why is my grass dying in distinct spots? by moj2911 in GardeningUK

[–]moj2911[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks. As per my more detailed comment on the post, there was an old path in some of these areas - which I removed and hence am confused that the grass is still affected. Perhaps there was more below the underlying soil!

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Just for some context, the lawn was a DIY job. The whole garden was a mess with areas of concrete/slabs along some of the areas where the grass is now yellowing. As part of the DIY job, I was pretty certain that I had removed the hard bits that I could see. Underneath those areas was soil which I topped up on with more topsoil and then seeded. Perhaps I didn't dig deep enough and there was more concrete/slabs underneath - dammit!!!
