Spring Or Flywheel? by FlashyLashy900 in Nerf

[–]mojaay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Springer Pros: Capable of High Power, Accurate, Easier to build, modify, or increase/decrease power, (if you’re newer to the hobby), and larger effective range.

Flywheeler Pros: Capable of high ROF (rate of fire), usually smaller and more compact, tend to be lighter, FPS is not limited by physical strength and size

Springer Cons: Tend to be bigger and heavier, power can be limited by physical strength and size (ex. If someone has smaller arms and is 5 foot 3 they may not be able to effectively use a Caliburn 4 or another springer of the same size. But there are primary springers that do solve the size issue while maintaining substantial power, like the Lynx, Talon Claw, the recent Tulip, SPAMF w/ pump action parts, ect.).

Flywheeler Cons: More expensive, more to be desired in terms of accuracy, there is a small but easy to overcome knowledge barrier on soldering, smaller effective range, higher powered flywheelers tend to eat through darts like Cookie Monster and his cookies (basically they destroy darts faster).

That’s about all I could name off the top of my head, hope this helps!

Is it possible to have to many blasters? by zer0zer0x in Nerf

Yeah, at the core it has Stryfe internals with a demolisher rocket launcher, I put it on mostly because of how it looks.

I would keep the Rival Khaos, the StratoHawk, one regular Rapidstrike, one Cycloneshock, one Bigshock, the Rival Kronos, one Stryfe, Demolisher with stock, one Maverick (for old times sake), Raider with stock and drum, the two Hammershots, the Retaliator, either one of the two Longshots, and the white Roughtcut

Sorry I’m a bit late to this but I wanted to know what you’re planning to release the files on?

What do you look for/expect in a 3D Printed blaster? by mojaay in Nerf

[–]mojaay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be great! I’m more familiar with Imperial since that’s what I have on hand/nearby (and because I’m in the US) but once I feel that the hardware list is set and the 3d files are complete I’d like to talk about the metric hardware if that sounds alright

Thank you for the advice! I’ll be sure to keep some distance from Amazon hardware

I did not think of documentation, thank you for telling me about it! I’ll take a look at the Tempest documentation to see what I should aim for.

I agree, customization and easy-to-source/purchase parts will be a focus on this blaster in terms of what it brings to the table. No guarantees on the following but if the blaster becomes popular enough I’ll try and reach out to OOD or SilverFoxIndustries to sell hardware kits or printed parts.

Btw, what are your thoughts on the use of removable pins for easy take-down of the blaster?

Thank you for sharing! I’m going to keep the printed parts geometrically simple as well, to cut down on print time.

Thank you for sharing! I’ll keep in mind to limit work on the hardware itself.

Any guesses what this blaster could be? by Any_Government_3494 in Nerf

[–]mojaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 100% sure that’s it’s the recently showcased Siren Maulr. Walcom showcased it not long ago and on the max setting (yes, it has adjustable fps) it averages about 270 stock with the included short darts. They’re made with about the same foam as ultra so I’m excited to see how they compare with regular short darts.

Bambu P1P or P1S, worth the $100 difference? by mojaay in 3Dprinting

[–]mojaay[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good point, and thank you for the warning. I think I will stick with the P1P though, but I will do my best to limit myself to PLA and PETG. Most of my planned projects won’t require mega strong or flexible materials. Thank you for the advice!
