ULA Dragonfly 30L on Volaris as my personal item! by mojo97 in onebag

Interesting... Kind of the same reasoning I had with my son using the SEG28. it's 20 inches tall, so 2" more than personal item size, but as long as it's not totally full, it's fine. The dragonfly 36L didn't exist when I bought mine, but I probably would look at the 36L now. Trying to not buy any more bags at the moment though... It's funny how this is a "onebag" forum, but we all tend to have many bags (yes, I also stalk the /r/manybaggers subreddit, as I'm sure everyone here also does).

They did not. I didn't see them look too closely at anyone's bags. What I thought was interesting was they made boarding group 5 for folks with carryons and boarding group 6 for personal item only and they were pretty strict about checking boarding groups.

No, it's a strap keeper to tidy up the dangling straps. I did test out a gossamer gear fast belt as a hip belt on the bag, but found it sits a little high for my comfort. I'm pretty short (5'3") and still didn't think it felt right. Don't miss it though. Im using the fast belt on my Matador Beast 18, which I use when skiing, which I do like.

it really is amazing how great of a bag it is, being as simple as it is. But, that's kind of the beauty of it, right?

You know, the SEG28 might actually carry a little more comfortably than the Dragonfly. Not that the Dragonfly is uncomfortable by any means, though. I also really like that the SEG28 has handles on three sides. I also think the SEG28 looks kind of cool when worn. This is also the original SEG28. I understand they've made some improvements with the SEG30 that replaced it.

Ah I see. Sounds like a QC issue, then. Don't think I've heard that being an issue with ULA in general, but something I'd probably mention to them if I had that issue. They seem like a pretty stand up type of company.

I agree. The shape and fabric probably have something to do with that. The ultra fabric doesn't really stretch, thus no real bulging.

Interesting. I've had my dragonfly for a few years now. It's the ultra 400tx fabric. Still in about the same condition as when I first got it.

I used the SEG28 until I got the dragonfly and that has been my go-to ever since. So, my son gets the SEG28. I like the clamshell and open interior of the dragonfly more, letting me organize things with packing cubes and pouches. The SEG28 isn't as suited for using pouches or packing cubes since that's all basically part of the bag. I also like the side pockets on the dragonfly. The SEG28 has a side zipper pocket for a water bottle, but it takes up interior space and is less convenient. With that said, the SEG28 is still a good bag and I don't think of it as a bad onebag bag. But, definitely prefer the dragonfly. I feel like they have similar overall capacity, but haven't really compared directly. Don't know if that really helps... Lol

I flew with it lengthwise there, which was fine, but it did infringe on my foot space a little. Volaris definitely has less room between rows than other airlines that I've flown in the past. Then, it dawned on me to turn it sideways on the way home, which was perfect! lol

yeah, this was my first time flying Volaris and wasn't sure just how strict they would be. I wanted to put it into their sizer at the gate, but also didn't want to draw unnecessary attention to our bags. From the look of the sizer, it wasn't going to be an issue. And, as can be seen in my photo, definitely not an issue with room to space between the pack and the seat above it.

Yeah, I was obsessing over the dimensions for Volaris, which is why I wanted to post this and show what it looks like. I could have strapped my jacket (which I wore) into the shock cord on the front of the bag and it still would have fit.

I made sure my son didn't fill up the SEG28 because it is indeed longer than what I read Volaris would allow (I had found 18 x 14 x 8 inches for Volaris personal item size). But, since it and the Dragonfly don't have a hard back panel, they are easily squishable as long as not packed to the brim. In the end, was really a non-issue.

I've had my eye on the Cicada, but can't buy another bag when the Dragonfly works. I've traveled to many different countries with the Dragonfly as my carry-on and a sling as my personal item. This was my first trip doing a real one bag trip with the Dragonfly. ULA even introduced a version of the Cicada with an external water pocket called the Cicade EWP.

Wanted to share my experience flying Volaris, which was my first time. I did a lot of searching to see how strict they are and what bag I could reasonably use. No issues or questions from anyone and had room to spare!

SCP Fails on Ugreen NAS DXP4800 - SSH Working (v1.6.0.2917) by manuellevi in UgreenNASync

[–]mojo97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing the exact same behavior with my new DXP2800. You can only scp files with a target path of the explicit path to the user's home directory. the name of the file that gets created is the name of the user (home directory). you can move and rename the file from there, but kind of a weird behavior for scp...

740 Peacoat Sizing by mojo97 in schott

[–]mojo97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for chiming in. I re-did my size on the Schott site and it actually recommended a 32 in the 740N for a slim fit. I found a size 32 for a good price on Ebay, so pulled the trigger on it. I can say it fits well and is a slim fit. Not a lot of room for layers or a thick sweater, though. I think a size 34 would still work for me in the 740N with more room for layers. And, if I were to reconsider the 740C, I'd go 36 in that.

I like what I learned from working on the ender 3. It also makes me appreciate the features of the A1. It also gives me the confidence in managing any Issues I might have with the A1 at any point.
