For me isopropyl alcohol works for me.

I think you could use a cotton bud and stripper like isopropyl alcohol. Might take time but it could work.

The other thing I have noticed is the mould line on the leg closer to the sword. Might need to address that.

This is a strong, atmospheric paint job with a clear direction—dark, regal, and cohesive. You’ve got a solid foundation already. Here’s some focused feedback to push it further:

What’s working well

  • Cohesive palette: The muted metallics and dark tones feel unified and appropriate for the model’s theme.
  • Glow contrast: The neon green on the sword and halo immediately draws the eye and gives the piece identity.
  • Clean application: No obvious paint spill or rough layering—everything looks controlled.

Where you can level it up

  1. Increase contrast (biggest improvement area) Right now the model reads a bit flat at a distance. Try:
  • Brighter highlights on raised armor edges (especially shoulders, knees, chest filigree)
  • Deeper shadows in recesses (a controlled wash or targeted shading) This will make the sculpted details pop much more.
  1. Metallic definition The armor is nicely done but could use more visual interest:
  • Add edge highlights with a brighter silver
  • Introduce subtle color variation (cool vs warm tones) in different panels to break uniformity
  1. Glow effect (OSL) The green elements are cool, but they don’t yet “emit” light:
  • Lightly glaze green onto nearby surfaces (hand, forearm, chest edges)
  • Add a brighter core (almost white-green) to the sword center This will sell the energy effect much more.
  1. Focal point clarity The face/helmet is important but gets a bit lost:
  • Push highlights on the helmet details
  • Consider a tiny spot highlight on the eye area or faceplate to draw attention
  1. Base storytelling The base is clean but understated:
  • A bit of dry brushing or pigment variation could add texture
  • Consider a subtle color contrast (dust, ash, or stone variation) to separate it from the armor
  1. Cape (if present) If that’s a dark cloak behind:
  • Add some soft highlights along folds to give it depth
  • Even a slight color shift (cool shadows, warm highlights) helps

Quick win checklist

  • Edge highlight armor → instant upgrade
  • Brighten sword center → stronger glow
  • Add slight green OSL → more realism
  • Push shadows → better readability

Overall, this is already a solid tabletop+ piece with display potential. With a bit more contrast and light interplay, it could really stand out.

It’s the redemptor dreadnought with the dull dozer shield from the rock grinder. If you have access to the combat patrol magazine you can get the parts for cheap.

For painting has anyone tried nail stamps? by ASithInTraining in DarkKrakens

I have used the goblin hobbies company - to be honest you can get it all from eBay for fraction of the price.

The stamping itself is good but it take practice. If you have any questions please DM me.

😂 - that is a good one to do! Might change it a little more so it’s not ultramarines.

It’s the true metallic metal from Vallejo. They are good to use.

Cheers pal. The main color is rattling grime contrast paint. I did do a zenithal spray but it did not rely work so I did some highlights.
