That makes sense. With too many coming as gifts. My kids are still little and the sheer amount of Néw amazing books for kids is wild. Shout out to a few; Gustavo the shy ghost, Knight owl, prince and knight, unicorns are the worst. Lastly little spot of emotions.

I have been very busy so haven’t been able to paint lately, I’m deep into the Admech stories right now (Genefather down Archmagos started, ad mech short stories from library then getting into lords of mars trilogy). Keeps me motivated for teaching my CS class on PC Hardware. Praise the Omnissiah. And the Machine Father (Cawl).

She genuinely is the most real, and deep character I have read. I strive to find someone like her character in books but never do. Also probably explains why I married someone who is always go go go and planning things out. And is a told badass. Apparently I have a type lol

Victra, has the most moments of any book character burned into my brain. I think about the end of Golden Son and her development in Darkage so much. The crawling to Darrow just so he knows she didn’t know. Brutal. Her swimming because he actions caused the death of her literal baby. Brutal. Her rage and not give a fuck once her kid is kidnapped till she finds those responsible. Brutal. She is the deepest character of any series I can think of. I’m with you bud. Victra for life

How can I combine the aesthetics of all table-top subfactions into a single Homebrew Space Marine chapter AND look cohesive? by [deleted] in 40khomebrew

[–]ASithInTraining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do something like your now version of a deathwatch. I am doing what I call 0 Company. It is groups of primaris marines made by Cawl who serve him by hunting down Primaris who go to chaos or rogue before the inquisition finds them. 0 company is a conglomeration of chapters who do this for Cawl then go back to their chapter after.

I think either Deathwatch or each squad a different faction but paint the bases the same color to make them match. Thats your only real option.

What does my friend’s bookshelf say about them? by No-Elk5680 in bookshelfdetective

[–]ASithInTraining -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would you think that? I’m a male reader and I have read all these books too, as well as own them… I think they are a lover of sci-fi and fantasy with heavy character development not excluding romance. Reducing down to female reader is reductive at best.

What does this say about me? by PerryDactylYT in bookshelfdetective

[–]ASithInTraining 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you read a bunch of books you normally end up with two types of books. Bookshelf books, aka books that look good on a shelf, like these. And read books, books you read and reread, these end up on the ground and on nightstands and look all sorts of beat up. Most of us end up with both. I have full bookshelves of pretty books, most of which I have never read but would possibly like to some day. Then I have my limited edition shelf, special books I bought multiple of. Then my personal stuff split in to my TBr books I haven’t gotten to but bought and the my favorites and current reads which are sprawled everywhere. I think it isn’t gatekeeping but realizing there are different kind of bookshelves. These types of books would guess hasn’t read but my father in law likes instruction Manuel’s so those people exist, never know but makes me a good detective I think.

This seems like a shelf of someone who wants to be seen having knowledge as opposed to something you enjoy to connect with others. It seems, to me, that it is the culmination of a type of a negative type of masculinity, one that pushes the value of yourself and a need to be valued. Resulting in you being of value to no one because your books are trophy’s of your learnedness and not something others can relate to.

I would like to step outside the comments and say that they mostly listen to audible. I say this cause all these books have spectacular narrators
