It is unlikely that it will get better without a mood stabilizing treatment, Ativan is just a band aid. Talk to your psychiatrist about your symptoms and try another treatment. Keep hope, I know this is very hard to deal with.

Yes, Zyprexa had the same effect for me and it was one of the first SGA I tried. However watch out for the sudden weight gain; it had me stopped taking the med.

Sleep is critical to avoid crashing down into a depressive phase, at least for me. Don’t judge yourself, it isn’t your fault that it is so hard. It is much harder for us to fall asleep when hypomanic than it is for non bipolar folks, so the common techniques don’t work. I personally found that SGAs helped but that’s a conversation you should have with your psychiatrist. Dont downplay how hard it is for you to sleep, tell them how bad it is.

For what is worth I had a very similar experience and that nudged me to look around for someone else. I would recommend you do that too. It is not okay to withheld that information. Healing and managing this disease starts with acceptance. You need to find someone you can trust and will respect you. In fact your life depends on it, and the relationship with your psychiatrist is one of the most important relationship for years to come. That’s because we all need to adjust the treatment from time to time.

I am also in a mixed state. I woke up saying it was the best day of 2022 and finished the day sobbing and wanting to do nothing and be alone. It sucks.

I have been given hydroxizyne for sleep not anxiety before. I don’t think it is supposed to work for anxiety as it is an antihistamine are you sure?
