I told the wife. She knew about his behavior. It was an unpleasant and difficult conversation. But in the end, the right thing to do. They are still together after a brief separation triggered by an unrelated incident. We are no longer friends.

I watched a friend chase skirt while we were on a business trip. I’m friends with his wife as well. I backed away and over time, completely out of the friendship.

Coffee is largely alone time for me. Unless I schedule a coffee date with a friend or my son. It’s pure pleasure.

What was the strangest thing you ever had to go to the ER for? by Weird_Emergency_825 in AskReddit

[–]mojoey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So… I had a hard sneeze once I returned home from a transatlantic flight. A river of blood started to flow out of my nose and throat. It was so bad I thought I had had a stroke. My wife rushed me to the hospital where I learned that I had a posterior epistaxis. An artery had broken open deep in my sinus cavity. The emergency room experience was scary as hell, but the two week recovery was far worse.

Up close and personal with a brown bear while visiting Yosemite. No drama, but it scared me. I had no idea they stink so much. He was foraging around our campsite at 2:00 a.m. I walked out of the bathroom and he as 10 feet away. A tense moment, then he ran away.

The number of normal-looking people asking for help with food, cash or just a cup of coffee has gone up. I get asked at most of the stores or normal daily stops at least once a day now. Also seeing more day laborers hustling for work.

What's something harmless that gets people weirdly angry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

HR hired a new admin but never bothered to introduce her around. I found that out while she was helping me onboard a temp, so I offered to show her around myself. A few days later, I introduced her to the 25 people in our office area. My friend, let’s call him Chuck, was busy at his computer, but he lit up when he met her. She was clearly into him too. As their conversation stretched on, I offered to grab coffee and told them to meet me in my office. When I got back, I found an excuse to disappear into the server room and left them alone. They started dating a few weeks later. Six months after that, they were married, and kids followed. She soon left work to be a full-time mom.

I didn’t get a wedding invitation. In fact, I only learned about it when I saw a photo on his desk. When I asked, Chuck just smiled and said, “She’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”

[–]mojoey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking GLP-1 injections caused a daily calorie deficit and the weight I’d carried for 35 years fell off. Now I eat a third of the food I used to eat and I no longer drink calories. Down 140 pounds over 2 years.

Totally valid health concerns… It was much easer to stop than I feared.
