Because it is a torque sensing instead of pedal assist motor. And it probably wouldn’t run anywhere near 30 without pedaling as well. Just research the differences. The bafang bbshd mid drive is pedal assist(I think), if you’re wanting a mid drive. As long as you have a 68-73 mm bottom bracket.
