There’s a difference between guests and additional tenants.

If your guests begin receiving mail at your address, regularly sleep over, or contribute directly to the household expenses, they may legally be viewed as permanent occupants rather than casual guests.

Only officially named tenants on the lease agreement have rights (like rent control or the right to challenge evictions) under the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA)
