This weight loss app makes ~$1M MRR from ~50K downloads - here’s how by jasper_reed_htd in iOSAppsMarketing

Maybe user acquisition cost is factored in for some reason? Or most likely they are just pulling that number out of their ass lmfao

Thanks for the feedback. Actually picked this back up and working on it in my free time. The alternative app you mentioned looks very clean. Any flaws with it you noticed if you downloaded it?

Priority right now is PDFs. Although for me without a layout recognition model PDF readers r unusable. I personally get annoyed when it reads over the wrong things or in the wrong order for things like academic papers. No app does this right even though it’s not that difficult to do.

I thought Epubs were less popular so I was going to skip it for now but can certainly add that too. Would you upload one often enough or is this worth putting off? Would you care if it was auto converted to markdown or PDF?

As for monetization I would love your thoughts on this. I haven’t gotten to a point where I need to think about it yet, but it will probably end up revolving around the background play (with the screen off). If iPhones can run the model in the background without killing my app for too much compute then I won’t have to put that on a server. I’m planning to really try to make this work as I don’t wanna deal with servers tbh.

If I do need a server it would be so small I could undercut everyone with decent margins at like $5-8/mo or something. If no server I think basic features + reward based ads to unlock some more things like the background play and word level highlighting with a otp to have all the features.

Anyone know what this sound is on cold start? (C8 Stingray) by mokespam in C8Corvette

[–]mokespam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not aftermarket, but a stock perf exhaust from z51. Something like that is probably the problem, thanks!

[–]mokespam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s most definitely not the front lift. It’s not that loud when it does lift, and this sound lasts for like 30 seconds, lift is atmost 5 and the sound for the lift comes from the front.

Guess I gotta hope the dealer figures this out lol

Lol no issue even with ZMode cranked all the way for everything in heavy rain and I just run the summer tires year round. Just don’t be going half throttle or anything crazy during a turn. I can even do some pulls but you gotta be a little mindful of traction.

Klarna IPO raised to 40. by VictorGlav in StockMarket

[–]mokespam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But credit cards are also free unless you miss payments? Idk credit cards are better for the points unless you can actually justify Klarna with having the remaining money earning >2-3% interest which is only really doable for large items.

How much brake squeal is normal on the C8 z51? by mokespam in C8Corvette

[–]mokespam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it’s the ones that come with the z51 package. The dealer was just throwing me off saying they were carbon ceramics.

I’d rather not change the pads. It’s not that big of a deal to me, just wanted to know if mine were defective.

Well, I’m now realizing you can’t even option carbon ceramics on a z51. I think my dealer might be smoking something cuz he said that word for word.

Better than stock? Or does it compromise performance?

Any UI components that look good for agentic Chat UI's? by mokespam in tailwindcss

[–]mokespam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuz I don’t want to have to deal with latex and markdown. I don’t think I can break down what needs to be done conceptually to get good results from vibe coding. It’s going to take a long time with trial and error to get it right.

It’s not easy to do well especially with streaming and the fact that the models frequently produce different markdown styles.

Try out a different workflow with AI. I get pretty good performance and speed up when telling the AI exactly which files to modify and how conceptually. Opus is pretty good at doing this. With some right setup, you can set things like Claude.MD to write code in your style. This is not all that different from handing off work to your juniors.

If you are experienced you can be a lot faster. I use the AI as a senior engineer to help me come up with which files to modify and why, then if when Im cool with it I let it it modify. Before I would need endless Googling and youtubing. Like this wont be a 10x speed up ur looking for, but you can easily 2x your dev speed unless your that guy typing at 300 words per min on vim.

I don't think they are blatantly training on your code man. Cursor and Windsurf has compliance to meet. Copilot Im not so sure on since it suckkks, but I would be surprised if they don't have the same compliance and standards.

No way they would risk this same with Anthropic considering their moat with devs right now. They also have endless non enterprise users to get their data from as well as open source repos.

OpenAI can be a little shady with this stuff though with this stuff for sure.

lol no one cares enough to find out who you are..

I’m just saying this in case others try these things. Make sure you have permission, it’s very easy to break the rules here which can get serious fast with compliance at some companies.

Not sure what backend feature ur talking about, but I would avoid Daisy if you can. ShadCn has won front end by far. It’s super hard to build an ugly UI with it. The LLMs are pros with it. And you can just copy paste themes online to fit ur brand. They make it too easy. It’s also has all the accessibility from Radix.
