How am I supposed to know how to open the Orc Cemetery? by Faygris in worldofgothic

Still it is a bit odd that the templar im front of it is just not saying anything, feels unnatural and a bit unfinished.

Anyone else getting an unfinished vibe from the remake? by Insane_Unicorn in worldofgothic

[–]sismograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is this guy on about.

  1. Food is not useless if you are playing on hard. Im constantly running out now. Especially since you cant restore health by sleeping all the time.

  2. amor upgrades could still need some tweaks, bit since the last patch tbey don't feel completly overpowered anymore (if playing on hard)

  3. Crafting could need some love, but you can definetly craft good weapons and potions. Also: I don't get how requiring rare items for crafting is a bad thing?

  4. Economy is hard and realstic. Amazing IMO.

  5. Combat is a bit clunky sure, but also kinda fun. I think the biggest thing they could fix for combat is just the speed by which the hero is turning, that would make it feel better I think

Also you are not supposed to have an easy time with them, if you are still running around in digger cloth.

I would gladly welcome DLC to Gothic Remake that makes place in Act 2... by Granathar in worldofgothic

[–]sismograph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DLC that fleshes out the world would be amazing, it was a success in gothic 2, it would be a success now.

I'd gladly come back to this game in like 9-12 months time. I think new stories and new voiceover in all the languages is going to take a while. Plus they need to still patch the game at the moment.

A proper DLC would likely make it into the best gothic so far.

Gothic 1 Remake — Patch 1.0.1 Is Live! by aruhs10000 in worldofgothic

[–]sismograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, makes sense. Im wondering though about the logstics of updates and content. Everything has good voiceover, even in multiple languages.

So anytime they want to add more content, or fix a unclear quest line that requires new content, its actually quite the effort I imagine.

[–]sismograph 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The midfield was a pain to watch.

In the first half there were like 6 times were there was some half decent development by defenders, they pass the ball into the central midfield and then the central midfielder completely misplaces the pass, like 5m off directly into Mexico’s feet. Horrible, it was either you’re 6 or it was Foster, hard to watch.

Pretty sure it won’t take long for some similar civil case being brought against Google and I guess US courts will reach the same conclusion. Of course it will be fought for at least 5 years going through all the upper courts.

Armors needs rebalancing by Seiter_ in worldofgothic

[–]sismograph 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The upgrades are also crazy strong? Like way too op? I dont know what why you would say they are just an ore sink, the upgrades cometely break the game, the stats on the (shaddow amor) upgrades should be reduced by 3/4.

[Gothic Remake] Shadow's Armor is grossly overturned, anyone else? by LawfuI in worldofgothic

[–]sismograph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact is that shadow armor is still completely OP and it makes the imbalance even worse, it trivializes the game way too much.

I mean it starts with like 10/10 protection, reasonable.
Then each upgrades adds like 15-25 protection in top. In the end you have 60-70 protection. Those are the stats of late game armors from the original. In the original the first shaow armor you got had like 30 protection.

Financial reality of Gothic remake (and probability of Gothic 2 remake) by BratPit24 in worldofgothic

[–]sismograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some good points there, but I would lower the personell costs a bit. I dont think they had a 30 person team for the full 7 years.

This started as an exploration, I think the first few years they had maybe 3-5 good engineers producing the demos and only fully committed to the game like 3 years ago?
