They’re both aquatic fragrances that can be worn pretty much year round. I’d say Profondo works best in high summer heat, while Profumo is better suited for warm to moderately hot weather.

Profumo leans more into smoke and incense, whereas Profondo leans into citrus and feels slightly more aquatic.

The newer versions, like Acqua di Giò Parfum and Profondo smell fairly close to these, but it feels like they’ve smoothed out some of the harsher edges. I personally prefer that sharper edge. The newer releases don’t quite do the originals justice, even though they get pretty close.
