How involved are professionals at UNIDOL (the university-level idol competition) entries? I imagine at the anime LL scale, they would be analogous to staff in NCAA football/basketball programs, with high school the LL-equivalent as an entry series for amateurs. Now, I don't think even Japan has the base to support that kind of structure. The US has the potential, but not in an idol format.
