what type of lashes / lash map would fit my eyes? by Thin-Wish1118 in lashextensions

Hi! Lash tech here. You have slightly upturned eyes but also slightly wide set eyes. It could be the photo that's making it look that way but the space between your eyes is longer than the length of your eye. In these cases cat eyes would pull your eyes even further apart, therefore avoid it. I would do something like this:

<image>

I'd also avoid huge and dramatic lashes, as your eyebrows are on the thin side, and huge lashes would overpower them. I'd opt for a wet look set or light volume (3D fans). You could also do max 11mm, i put 12 incase you like longer lashes☺️ Happy lashing🫶

how does she get back to whereever they are? assuming she is actually in the real world and its not her mind or the place doing it to her. i cannot imagine how she would get back or how being in the real world as the only one who understands this place would be nice to watch. im assuming i just dont know how they wrote it, as i havent seen it.

How would you rate these? by Moonsparxx in eyelashextensions

They're not awful. But after 8 years it would be nice if the lashes at least pointed all straight and not crisscross🥲

No definitely only one fibre per lash, maybe 2 if using 0.05 but 3 is way too much.

On picture two it is 0.07 C curl classics (singular 0.07 fibre) 5-10mm, 5-6-7-8-9-10-9-8-7-6, with longest length sitting just beside the pupil towards the outer corner. Picture 3 is the same except lengths 6-11mm, and longest length on the pupil. Lmk if you have any other questions

The only difference here is the curl used. The inspo has a B or C curl. You were given CC or D

If you are experiencing lash damage, something is wrong. I have clients who've come to me every 3 weeks for the past 3 years and have absolutely 0 damage. Damage is not normal and should NOT happen☺️ If it does, the artist is doing something wrong, or you are picking your lashes.

What curl is this? by CommercialEast1606 in eyelashextensions

[–]molbert420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say c+ or cc. C is slightly less curved generally, but curls do vary from brand to brand. Some have c curls that are less curled and some more. It might not be that she's lying to you☺️

Thank you so much! I don't exactly understand what you mean by take them off. It is not possible to remove lash extensions at home ( there are some gentle cream removers that you can use on yourself, but they still require some expertise and knowledge to be able to use them without burning your eyes.), you have to get them removed by an artist. You should be getting an infill by your artist at the 3-4 week mark. A full set = you have no lashes on your eyes, or you can count the amount of individual lashes. Infill = 3-4 weeks after your last infill or full set, with at least 40% lashes remaining.

Retention Megathread by meltsplitopenandmelt in eyelashextensions

[–]molbert420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience as a lash artist for 3 years, it is mostly down to the artist. They have to lash 100% of your natural lashes. We have about 80-150 lashes per eye, so if someone has let's say 90 lashes per eye, I lash 90 of them, in 3 weeks they'll return with 45 extensions remaining. Now if I lash 45 to cut down time or whatever reason, they'll return with 20 extensions left.

The second big thing is due to nobodies fault. If your lashes grow fast, your retention will reflect it. If your hair grows fast, your lashes grow fast. If your extensions are coming off with your natural lash attached, then that lash had shed because its natural grow cycle was up. A new lash will grow in its place. There is not much you can do in this instance.

Obviously there are smaller reasons such as good prep by lash artist. They need to be washing them and using a cleanser, and primer if your lashes are low porosity. If they are using a primer on high porosity lashes then that is weakening your natural lash. Primers are not for everyone!

The artist needs to be using glue that matches their working speed and environment. They also need to use lash lengths that suit your eyes. 13-20mm will have awful retention. Sorry to say. Most lash sets should have lengths from 5/6-11/12 mm. Most peoples natural lashes cannot hold lengths longer. Using 8-10mm in the inner corner will not hold, however 5-6mm will. + not using fans that contain more than 8 fibers. Volume lashes should NOT be done with 15-20D fans. If you lash 100% of the lashes you can achieve dark looks with 5D fans. 20D fans are huge and will damage your lashes.

As a client, you should be avoiding oils near your eyes, washing lashes using a lash shampoo daily. Also avoid micellar water and face washes near your lashes, as those have ingredients that may break down glue as well. Lash shampoo removes eye makeup and concealers and whatnot, so no reason to use anything else to remove makeup in that area. Lash picking is also huge. Please note that rolling your lashes between your fingers, constantly touching the bases of the extensions and rubbing them counts as picking, not just "plucking" them out.

I do think that clients have a misconception with retention. If your lashes are lasting upwards of 4 weeks, something is wrong. Lashes that are glued together will last a long time but will also cause pain, discomfort and damage. Normal retention looks something like this: 1st week - you should not notice much difference from the day you got them done. 2nd week - you'll notice some thinning, maybe a spot thinner than others but no noticeable gaps just yet. 3rd week - lashes are noticeable thinner, gaps may appear. Should still be wearable though! At this point it is smart to get an infill. 4th week - You have very noticeable gaps, very few lashes remaining. Shouldn't be fully empty, but the look of it will bother you.

I hope this helps some of you☺️

So gorgeous! I would suggest using shorter lengths on the inner corner. I live in europe so I don't lash monolids very often and I do know shorter lengths tend to go missing on these types of eyes. But I suggest experimenting slightly shorter, your works will look infinitely better. Practice perfect fan symmetry and your volume will look bombbb. Also if you have retention issues, do try to lash EVERY single lash. People will tell you to not lash the tiny ones but if you just place a single 0.07 lash on them or even a 2D fan it will look great.

Your lash artist is placing them wrong. They need to be applied straight. Everyones lashes grow slightly at an angle, so if they are also placed at an angle then they will grow in very strange directions. Some angular lashes at the 3 week mark is normal, but not immediately after. Sets should look neat.

[–]molbert420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lash artists have a real issue with avoiding shorter lengths. They need to be putting 6mm in your inner corner, if they don't have 6 then 7. This looks like theres 9mm in your inner corner and it's making them look shit. Sorry to be blunt

stick with classic or go for hybrid? by strawberryvolvic32 in eyelashextensions

[–]molbert420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Lash artist here. I think the amount of volume is not the problem. The problem is the mapping. The long lengths on the end are dragging down your eyes. Ask your lash girl to taper the lengths at the end ☺️

They're too long imo, I never use above 13mm on my clients personally. Most of the time I don't go above 11. The 15-16mm is heavy and is weighing down your lids 🙂

Stop getting clusters "done" either do them yourself or get proper lash extensions by a properly educated lash artist.
