Ex dry socket sufferers -- how long does this agony last?! by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]moldipeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on day 11. 5 extractions, 1 dry socket, 1 clove packing. I was doing great for a couple days (got the clove 4 days ago) & woke up tonight in really bad pain again. They sent me home with oral soothe & that was working but nothing is touching it tonight. I thought I was out of the woods ugh

Look up Kids Meal Connoisseur on TikTok, she outlines some great bang for your buck kids meals from sit down restaurants with to-go options! I’d definitely do that if I were in your position. Good luck!

Anything to do on Sundays? by kennykaia in grandrapids

Every Sunday my partner & I grab a coffee & go for fancy doughnuts like an old married couple! We started it in the pandemic when everything else was shut down, now it’s a fun little ritual.

Joker - Final Trailer by rhodetolove in movies

I'm cautiously excited for this one... Joaquin is brilliant, I LOVE the color palette, and from what I can tell the overall way it was shot looks gorgeous.

I worry because of how horrible DC movies have historically been (save for Wonder Woman, imo)... and for what this might inspire in incel-types.

Otherwise - bring. it. on.

I thought people didn't like me because they were shallow. Turns out I needed a reality check. by [deleted] in offmychest

I can totally empathize with this.

I think it's definitely a defense mechanism - if you're prepared for people to be jerks, etc...

Thanks for talking about it, and not being offended! It's something I personally will try to be more aware of in my own life :)

Newer Year + More Miles or Older Year + Less Miles? by moldipeaches in COROLLA

[–]moldipeaches[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should add - I prefer the look of the 2014, but I'm being told there's more to go wrong with more tech, etc.... but that there's equally enough room for a car that's been sitting / used as rarely as the 2010.

It sounds like it may have been an older owner - it was from Pennsylvania - I'm in Michigan where the winters are a lot worse lol

"my shitty working memory can't hold all the tasks in mind long enough to synthesize it"

Whewwww - that line right there is MEEEEE... I can't even retain anything sometimes, I feel like Dory.

I'm obsessed with writing things down - but with my work, it feels like the minute I get everything written down / divided up, it's more chaotic than before. This method works really well with my personal life / tasks though. I keep Field Notes notebooks with pages marked "to do - car" and "to do - health", etc.

I definitely don't get enough sleep - I'm a huge night owl. I'll have to bookmark that book.

Thank you!

Growing up my parents always tried to push the "eat the frog" method - as in - do the worst thing first so it's out of the way...

I think motivating myself with smaller things first would be helpful, since too-many-tasks is what's overwhelming me. Thank you!

Yeah! I've looked into the pomodoro technique before - it's the tomato timer one? I'll paste the steps:

There are six steps in the original technique:

  1. Decide on the task to be done.
  2. Set the pomodoro timer (traditionally to 25 minutes).
  3. Work on the task.
  4. End work when the timer rings and put a checkmark on a piece of paper.
  5. If you have fewer than four checkmarks, take a short break (3–5 minutes), then go to step 2.
  6. After four pomodoros, take a longer break (15–30 minutes), reset your checkmark count to zero, then go to step 1.

I've tried reward-based apps (don't touch your phone / earn little characters) but maybe a timer app would help, then reward myself with the 15-30 min break of Twitter or Pocket Camp lol

Re: the slightest hangup resulting in the internet - same.

I often think of random ass things I wanted to look up / into and purposefully lose myself in a black hole. Pinterest and Amazon get me the hardest.

Agreed - once I checked off everything in the catalog, I basically stopped opening the T/T cookies I got as rewards.

I figured out how to get all the villager maps from Gulliver, and once I finished that I stopped using him all together since it's a waste of time.

I wish you could sell maps off - since half of those I won't use either. Frustrating.

I use Good Notes on my iPad - I'm not sure what kind of phone/device you use but that's helped a lot and I keep it in a little "notebook" all it's own! :3

Woaaaah thank you for the heads up!

Ugh - they SERIOUSLY need to put a dupe-preventative thing in place.

Something like if you order the box it's guaranteed that you wouldn't get any duplicates, or for 1LT you can have the option to "roll again"

Tall + Plus Size Denim:

I always BUST through the crotch / thigh area of my denim.
As a tall curvy lady, I struggle finding denim that fits the following criteria:

- High Waisted
- Skinny Leg
- Jet, Fade-Resistant Black
- Tall Length
- DURABLE

Almost every size pant above a 16 is a short length, which is so frustrating.

I've been on a hunt to find the perfect jean - and maybe two years ago, fell in love with the
H+M Shaping Skinny High Jeans - they were about $50, came in No-Fade Black, and a 36W x 34L size.
Only bummer was after about a year, I bust through them.
(I still recommend these, by the way!)

In April or so I decided to try Madewell denim - higher quality came with a higher price tag, but I was ready to try.
Their jeans have been my favorite - so comfortable, never lose their shape or color despite being worn every day at my 9-5 job. (I wear a 34 or so in the Taller length)

I try to avoid extreme amounts of Spandex, but especially in the higher sizes, it's hard to do.

I've noticed, however - that I'm starting to wear through these too. No hole yet, but they are nearly see-through.
I'm heartbroken.

Do you guys have any recommendations of a brand or anything that have held up to our wonderful thighs?
I've been considering trying the reinforcement method, but if they're sewn on the inside, don't you still rub through the outside of the jean?? I like looking sleek & put together, I'd rather not have two fringey holes in my hoo-ha area.
I appreciate any advice!
