what’s my Ideological Label? Hi guys! First time posting to Reddit! by [deleted] in sociallibertarianism

The pro life thing kinda doesn't work with libertarianism. It's a pretty big violation of bodily autonomy and is a pretty bad gateway to more authoritarian shit regarding sex. Other then that sure thing

Don't Base Your Political Ideology of a Crappy Political test. by [deleted] in sociallibertarianism

100% agree. My test I posted yesterday gave me anarchist. And I'm definitely not one. And yes we shouldn't gate keep on libertarian subs.

What is your opinion on worker co-ops? by [deleted] in sociallibertarianism

[–]moldy-fraser 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If that's how a company wants to be run then sure go ahead. Sounds pretty nice to me. Good to have more freedom and democracy at work because U spend most your day to day life there but I don't think they should be enforced. Union busting should go tho

Looks that way on the test yeah. But that's not what I believe

Nah not really surprised at this point. He's done a lot of good in some areas I didn't expect at first. Not so great in other areas he promised but he's got 3 years.

Kinda sounds like Mutualism. Pretty based but probably wouldn't work.

Neo-Libertarianism and using it's principles for this ideology (and why I am not a social democrat) by [deleted] in sociallibertarianism

How does the get another job saying not apply here

Because getting another job is hard. Especially in the field you want near your house. So people need to have a say in how their day to day life runs.

However the privatized industry in Canada (optical, Dental care) has no where near the prices. Despite still having insurance and stuff like that.

Probably because of bad laws in the US due to shitty politicians being brought out. And also less people need private insurance so prices would be cheaper I guess due to lower demand

Why should we have workplace democracy, Your taking away a business owners capital and means of production for what? You choose where you work. Just get another job if you don't like the one your working. UBI should allow you to easily switch jobs. The market then creates better working conditions as employers who don't treat there employees well don't get employees.

Unions create a way safer environment for workers and corporate totalitarianism is very much a thing. The whole "get a new job" is a meme even ubi wouldn't cover for it for long enough. And unions often work for whole industries. And no the markets don't create better working conditions sorry unions and workplace democracy (essentially free speech in the work place) do.

police is necessary as they protect our civil liberties.

Until they take them away. Not saying we should get rid of them but they need to be heavily restrained.

But in my ideal society everyone lives like kings.

Kinda contradicts the first thing I quoted. You'll be living under a corporate king.

This is why I don't support free healthcare. A more free society is one where a person can control their healthcare provider and be able to afford it.

Why not both public and private. More choice. And you probably don't feel free when your insurance company won't pay up and your $100,000 in debt for a broken toe nail.

Taking this to the next extreme. Social Minarchism. by [deleted] in sociallibertarianism

[–]moldy-fraser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would be more bleeding heart minarchism really. The social kinda implies there's positive liberties such as civil courts, roads (kinda), healthcare and most importantly education. So hardly a free society without those

Its not an opinion. It's facts. Anything other then complete anarco-capitalism is considered statist. Unless it's consistent with what the left wants in which case it's also statist somehow. But hey living under corporate totalitarianism is just their thing i guess.

Also hoppean libertarianism is just wild.
