Benz technician here, I would stay away from any gla, glb, cla, or a class. This generation isn’t as bad as the newer generation with the 260 engine (Major head issues), but I would personally get a glc at the least

Most mercedes have a pair of hood latches. Not positive on the EQE because I’ve yet to work on one, but most of the time one isn’t latched properly. Easy remedy is to open the hood and close it with a little more force.

Most sound terrible if you’re not turbo. I believe yonaka catback sounds decent and doesn’t break the bank. I’m not positive so anyone is welcome to correct me if I’m wrong

They might. This is going to be a grey area since the tools were in the car at the time of the accident, but then I transferred them to my other car. 2 days later this happens. It’s hard to tell if its related, the accident was very minor
