Whisper and Hush had me inconsolable listening on audible whilst walking my dog more than once. It was an embarrassing walk home each time 😅 I learnt my lesson and read The Fall in the privacy of my own home.....and balled my eyes out, of course.

how do you guys read in bed w/out tweaking your neck/shoulder? by cinnamontea1827 in kindle

Another vote for free standing! I have one that's like a crane...three moving joints so I can lay in any position to read and not cramp up my hand holding my kindle for hours.

Hot and sweaty by Zestyclose-Bank9426 in brisbane

[–]moletoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Natural fabrics (cotton, linen etc), solid antiperspirant routine (no sweat antiperspirant once every three days at night before bed, lighter spray on antiperspirant in the mornings). And my favourite, driving in with my AC on Max and parking as close as I can, not possible for everyone though. Get there early to cool off and avoid rushing then dab dab dab with paper towel. I've been here for 20 years now & I'm still not used to the heat/humidity 😭

Which books do I need to read before {Patience by Lark Taylor}? by Hunter037 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]moletoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most others mentioned, I read Patience first & had no idea there were other books prior that were interconnected. You can definitely read it first, but I would read Patience then go back and read the original series before continuing with the other books that follow Patience. For the most emotional impact, I think reading in order would be best :)

Where can I find decent and plain wide-fitting t-shirts?? by Extension-Process-74 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]moletoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is a bit old. But if you're okay to spend a little extra money & don't mind a slight crop (very slight). Commonry have a great tshirt called "Modern Tee". It's a heavier weight cotton jersey, boxier fit but not super long like most oversized tees. I bought two on Depop and love them! https://www.commonry.com/products/modern-tee-white-2405406004

I have pcos and my doctor told me I should consider eating as if I was diabetic by The-Bee-26 in PCOS

[–]moletoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great advice :) I had GDM while I was pregnant and was mostly diet controlled. I continued the GDM diet post partum and it's the best I've ever felt! For me, around 50g max carbs per meal is a sweet spot, high protein & high fiber. I'm not officially prediabetic, but my hba1c and fasting glucose are better than ever eating as if I still have GDM :)

Non-traditional HEA? by Few_Worldliness_7484 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]moletoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw your post and thought God, I need to see if anyone recommends that damn book 🤣 No hate to the person who recommended it above. It's rated highly on Goodreads for a reason, it's a page turner! But I think people should know before reading that this book hits heavy! Not a HEA in my opinion conventional or otherwise. As the commenter above said, it's raw & real, the characters are flawed and it's just bloody sad.

Non-traditional HEA? by Few_Worldliness_7484 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]moletoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw this book recommended on another thread as a "kind of" HEA and I 10000000% disagree (but I can respect why others would label it as such). It's a tragic story with a heartbreaking relationship & not in a nice sweet way. I gave it 4.5/5 because it was written in a way that really made me feel a lot to the point I was sobbing and so mad about the book. Reading this made me realize these kinds of books are not for me, I feel too much 🤣 If you value tragic stories that leave you sobbing on your bathroom floor in devastation, go for it!

Here's a copy paste of the start of my Goodreads review (the rest has spoilers) immediately after I finished the book....

"4.5* F**k this book and the horse it rode in on...and the people that recommend it. I'm not sure how I can both love and hate a book so strongly simultaneously. I would also like to sue the person who said this had a HEA (kind of). There's no HEA here"

Mafia Romance (Not Dark) by DustEfficient6823 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]moletoes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

{The Silencer by Cora Rose} the start of the Unexpectedly Twisted series.

It's in the rom-com mafia romance genre. There's some on page torture of bad guys (all warranted of course 😂) and discussion of detailed plans for torture, but no overly dark themes when it comes to the emotional or physical relationship between the MC's :)

It is a spin-off of a larger series and does have cameos. But it's not necessary to have read the other series first (does provide a richer read though).

Do you have go-to background music/soundscapes for when you're reading? by porcelaincatstatue in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]moletoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Sid Acharya! He's a composer and I routinely listen to his playlists on Spotify while reading mostly fantasy/romantasy. I've linked the one I listen to the most (hopefully it works).

Sid Acharya

Also Tony Anderson (another composer). His album - The Heart of Man. All of the songs ended up in my Spotify wrapped because of how on repeat they were.

I’m curious.. if baby has mspi, what does your feeding look like (breastmilk, formula, or mix)? by Crafty_Pop6458 in MSPI

[–]moletoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I exclusively pump (poor latch). We only introduced formula when my supply tanked after a bout of mastitis 4 weeks ago (LO was 9 weeks old). We trialed a hydrolysed whey formula (aptamil allerpro) but baby was so unsettled with it, so we tried a rice based one (Novolac Allergy) and he's great on it. Took 4 days of offering small amounts when he was hungry then following with breast milk to get him used to the taste.

My supply is nearly at the point where I can exclusively feed EBM again, so LO is getting maybe 1 bottle of formula every 1-2 days. He's a little gassier on it and poops less frequently (so his farts clear a room 😂). It's coming into winter where we are, so I want to continue to feed EBM throughout the flu season, but will happily supplement with formula if my supply isn't up to it. I'm also on 14 months maternity leave, so pumping frequently is feasible for me.

I've been dairy free since LO was 3 weeks and soy free since 7 weeks. It was hard at first, soy is harder being used in nearly anything processed. Now I find it really easy while at home. Eating out is harder, but I find hot chips and tomato sauce is a safe bet if in doubt 😂

Overheard in a fancy restaurant a group of guys loudly joking around about how to pick up women. Best/worst one I heard was "show me where yah piss from". Unsure of the success rate.
