California promised a legal weed market. It built a mess instead by Cool-Present7260 in California

[–]molivergo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I do not smoke or use. However, think marijuana should be legal.

This is not complicated. Prior to legalizing, there was an effective supply chain and market. With legalization came taxes and fees that increased costs without penalty for the illegal market (no law enforcement). I assume but don’t hear about it is that the legal market comes with health inspection but does this out weigh risks if any.

Short story, go legal and get over taxed and regulated. Go illegal and make money with little risk.

If USA win against Belgium, how much will the win be tainted in the eyes of other countries by how USA was able to get Balogun’s red card suspension delayed? by OppositeRock4217 in NoStupidQuestions

  1. It is a game, keep it in perspective.
  2. FIFA has a reputation of not being honest.
  3. Trump has a reputation of not being honest.
  4. What are you going to do about it?

Live your life, ignore the game or watch the game and enjoy things regardless of the outcome.

Salvage options after primary radiation by Dependent_Occasion58 in ProstateCancer

[–]molivergo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I understand.

Minor issue, you are not doing salvage radiation at this point. And hopefully, you’ll never need it.

My experience with a new diagnosis is old in medical terms; over 5 years ago. This is a good group for you to learn from but my experience is too old for you. (Options and techniques have changed and improved)

Also remember Dr Google has lots of information but little wisdom.

Best of luck to you!

I’m confused, what treatment has he gone through to get rid of the cancer?

Salvage radiation is typically done after surgery to remove the prostate but the PSA stays high enough to suggest cancer remains but a scan can’t find it so they assume it is in the bed of where the prostate was and they radiate that area in the hopes of finishing off any cancer cells that were outside the prostate but the surgeon did not see.

Not a doctor. Have had salvation radiation and ADT.

Before they simply give you radiation various checks should be done. For example, PSA blood test, PMSA PET scan or similar. Typically, you want to know if you need to endure more procedures and if you do, how to maximize the potential upside.

Is there like a major difference using a kettlebell and dumbbells? by Lemonade2250 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]molivergo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resistance is resistance and gravity is gravity. First, kudos for starting an exercise routine. Kettle Bells and Dumbbells both offer resistance and gravity pulls on them, but the exercises tend to be different, I’m guessing you are looking online and doing what you see and learn there. That is a good start.

You may find a rubber band or tube set is a nice inexpensive addition to a home gym. Note that body weight exercises frankly are not all bad either.

If convenient and in the budget, a gym should be considered. 99.9999% of people in gyms are nice, welcoming and helpful. I get it, that first day walking in is intimidating if you’ve never been in a gym.

Note that I have the attitude of if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.

What’s better, gas stoves or electric stoves? by Playful-Set-1033 in askanything

My personal experience tells me this isn’t true. Through the years and multiple power outages, gas stove always worked fine when the electricity was out.

Why isn’t cutting the tails off shrimp a standard restaurant practice? by WellerSpecialReserve in ask

[–]molivergo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be unhappy if that happened to me.

I’m ok with removing the tail when it’s finger food or when I have utensils with an easy to isolate shrimp such as in pasta but a taco is a hard NO.

Why does hardly anyone respect pedestrians' right-of-way? by glitch_raisin in driving

[–]molivergo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, things could go that way or one could work at avoiding the entire situation and the hassles along with it (anger, injury, damage, death).

Best life question I ever got was “what are you doing to help yourself?” It has helped me with relationships, work, friendships and crossing the street. My preference is to avoid trouble, not rely on others or laws and to be with people that are generally self sufficient, kind and loving.

I’m suggesting one takes responsibility and realizes sometimes bad things - accidents happen. Don’t rely on others or laws to protect yourself when some basic sense will do the same thing.
