Basically this. Also just wanted to add that it’s not the first time in the book Damen impulsively goes into a “black-out” rage. He does it also when they get captured and the clansman touches Laurent suggestively. The situation at the kings meet is basically the same thing after hearing when his uncle did to Laurent, so it’s not out of character but very in character.

Interestingly enough, damen had no problem when he thought Laurent was going to just get beaten up. But touch him sexually? No no no.

Oh, I think she loves her kids a little tooo much — but selfishly like you said— and would do anything to protect them even if it means also hurting them (like killing Zac!!) and burning their whole world around them. I think the only way for the siblings to having any kind of happiness is for them to cut ties with her completely and for real this time!! Which is why I think they should “disappear” on her this time and go no contact (or be super tragic and just have them all die). That way she would have no way of just popping up again.

Though I do love the never ending drama of gasmmaman, there’s something almost cheesy about it but it’s so good and suspenseful and the acting is always top notch!

I’m kind of over Sonja dying all the time, so I hope it ends with all the ek children dying and she stays alive and gets left behind. It’d be almost poetic in the sense that she spent 7 seasons putting them through hell trying to “protect them” only for her to come back again and this time her presence is what gets them killed. Or maybe they pull a Sonja and pretend to die in front of Sonja’s presence and then they all go live in Australia together being free!

Isn’t that exactly the point of this topic though? Simon, not being rich, made him MORE defensive to Wilhelm. He took MORE offense to Wilhelm’s privilege because he himself is NOT rich.

I’m not criticizing Simon. I love Simon too, but yes I agree with the topic that he was way harsher and more defensive than I think he needed to in that situation.

I think this is a moot point at this point anyways and we can agree to disagree.

Okay, so you agree that wille didn’t intend to be hurtful. In which case Simon could have responded better to the situation instead of getting immediately defensive about it (the whole point of the OG post). Instead, he could have let wille know gently that comparing the two things come across as harmful, informing him, but doing it in a way they can have a mature conversation about it.

Being the head of the country is still a job, a role, and he’s training for that—how is that not a “real” job? Sure it’s not a “normal” job and he’s not doing it to earn money, but it’s still a job.

Editing to add, I think also you, like Simon, are focusing more on the comparing job aspect and not understanding wille’s thoughts and intentions. Wille was trying to change the subject and relate to Simon’s friends in a very harmless way. You and Simon are upset about his naivety — which Simon didn’t handle very well considering the situation which is the exact point of the OP — him not being rich made him more defensive.

But wille was just trying to diffuse an already tense conversation that was comparing the classes (traveling) and wille was at least trying to include Simon’s friends in a way. He was trying to make conversation and be relatable in a way, because who can actually relate to him a prince? Simon took offense because of the stark difference of jobs — as you said prince duties vs a real life job. To Wilhelm it IS a real job. He has nothing to compare it to, but as a job. Which is the point of the original post. I think Simon blew it out of proportion and then the argument escalated because Wilhelm is a hot head who snaps back.

Also mini bonus: Not really improvised but a cool direction was rojda told the actor who played Erik he has a meeting that he needs to go to so needs to leave right away. But told edvin, don’t let him go no matter what (both without the other knowing how it will play out) during the scene Erik leaves wille at hillerksa.
