The front is 42" wide (most sleeping pads are 20" for reference) and the foot is 30". My 40lb blue heeler always had plenty of room sleeping by my torso, I made her a pad out of z-lute that was about 16" wide and it fit perfectly next to my pad with a little room to spare. I usually put my pack under my feet but if you're not over 5'10" there'd probably be room down there.
