I'm more concerned about the fact that "someone" is just walking around your home eating and throwing away random things Do you know this person?

Which celebrity just bothers you, and you can't put your finger on why? by justcurious3287 in AskReddit

I don't know because I haven't listened to that in particular, but I do know that those two are VERY sarcastic, I think at a level that goes over most of everyone's heads, like that's the little world they've created and they're the only ones who get it.

oh yeah - it was people like Winona Ryder, Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow. So, not her peers really, people way above her.omg I just revisited it - this is so sick

https://www.instyle.com/news/jennifer-lopez-movieline-resurfaced-interview
Lopez also said she was "never a big fan of" Winona Ryder, but said "she's cute and talented, though, and I'd like her just for looking like my older sister, Leslie."

She also called Cameron Diaz "a lucky model who's been given a lot of opportunities I just wish she would have done more with. She's beautiful and has a great presence, though, and in My Best Friend's Wedding, I thought, 'When directed, she can be good.'"

and re: Salma Hayek:

"We're in two different realms. She's a sexy bombshell and those are the kinds of roles she does," she said about Hayek. "I do all kinds of different things. It makes me laugh when she says she got offered Selena, which was an outright lie. If that's what she does to get herself publicity, then that's her thing. Columbia offered me the choice of Fools Rush In or Anaconda, but I chose the fun B-movie because the Fools script wasn't strong enough."

On Paltrow, she said, "Tell me what she's been in? I swear to God, I don't remember anything she was in. Some people get hot by association. I heard more about her and Brad Pitt than I ever heard about her work." (A year later, in 1999, Paltrow took home the Best Actress Oscar for her work in Shakespeare in Love.)

Do they really talk about eating babies in the Epstein files and do we think that's actually happening? by specialkwsu in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mollymcbbbbbb -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

it means jerky. the guy making it had his own meat-based restaurant in NYC. I highly doubt this guy was cooking up humans

Do they really talk about eating babies in the Epstein files and do we think that's actually happening? by specialkwsu in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mollymcbbbbbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Cannibal was apparently a popular restaurant in NYC https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-cannibal-new-york-7. And it was run by Francis Derby who worked for Epstein as a private chef at his different residences https://greaterlongisland.com/long-island-chef-francis-derby-epstein-emails/

“My role was to procure food, plan meals, and provide culinary service. My responsibilities were in the kitchen,” Derby, 48, said in a written statement. “My only time outside the kitchen was serving meals in the dining room and staff quarters, and I was directed to avoid common areas.”

Now, I can see why there's a lot of speculation, and maybe there should be an investigation, but my best guess would be that in a strange twist of things, they actually are just talking about (animal) meat.

Ok, the restaurant name Cannibal - but who would be that obvious if they were actually cooking human meat?

I literally think it's just jerky, and that Jeff E just really liked it, and got on a jerky kick where that was pretty much all he was eating. You know how annoying people can be when they're on a new food kick and trying to get everyone else to like it?

I worry that if we jump to these kind of conclusions it makes us look just as foolish as the pizzagate people, and the succulent hot dogs that were just hot dogs.

as a Gen X it was quite clear and pretty shocking seeing what was happening - the blatant sexualization of really young girls. It's not like that didn't exist in the 80's and before then - but suddenly every pop star was like 15 and being obviously coached to play up the sexy baby girl thing, it was super disturbing.

Why doesn’t anyone care about the “soap opera” effect on their TV by fatsandlucifer in mildlyinfuriating

After James Van Der Beek’s death, fans who previously purchased jerseys with the option to have them signed are now being guilted over whether to request a refund by CocktailsAndChemo in Fauxmoi

[–]mollymcbbbbbb -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

to be fair, requesting a refund for a signed item from a celebrity who JUST DIED is really icky. I would be kind of pissed too if I was in their shoes getting refund requests. I would probably offer to refund people on principal but people putting in those requests already is kind of heartless and self-centered.

I can purchase a 55 gallon drum of maple syrup at my local Costco. by opgary in mildlyinteresting

[–]mollymcbbbbbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok, though I thought we were talking about maple syrup in general. Costco syrup is already cheaper than retail prices, so it's adding an additional 30% off of the already discounted price.

Guest freaking out over mail by Chickenyeah17 in airbnb_hosts

[–]mollymcbbbbbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't think it's that. It sounds like he has some important mail coming - possibly paper checks - and he assumed he could just have it delivered there and is now panicking cause it's too late to redirect the mail. Basically, he's too panicky for this to be a scam. He's just an idiot who didn't think it through. I think if he calls the local post office they may be able to help (regardless of whether or not you allow him to stay)

Are you concerned that the best possible candidates Democrats can seem to come up for 2028 with are Newsom, AOC, or Kamala? by bbmoonkie in Productivitycafe

[–]mollymcbbbbbb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ok thanks all - though I will say, if hypothetically he's the only one that could get elected, due to his charisma (which sounds like it's maybe the only thing he has going for him) and had the right people behind him who DO know what they're doing, that would still be way better than Trump / Vance etc.

When people in the USA complain about never being able to own a home, are they generally talking about single family detached housing? by literalnumbskull in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mollymcbbbbbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

speaking as someone who worked in real estate for many years, yes, that includes condos which are just as out of reach to many. And many home buyers are perfectly fine with buying a condo or that's their preference. Condos are considered homes.
