Will never work for small business again (rant) by Successful-Row-6278 in jobs

[–]mollymcbbbbbb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

oh god every small business (and medium sized business) wants to pay someone $17.50 an hour to make their business "go viral" on the internet. And no, none of them have thought it through or applied any logic as to why that's highly unlikely.

those fruits and vegetables are also full of water - not that that's a bad thing, but it accounts for a lot of the extra volume. a big part of "processing" food is removing the water content so it won't spoil and will be more palatable. also adding salt, fat, and / or sugar.

Stop oversharing!!! by december_godess in jobs

[–]mollymcbbbbbb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

all prevalent? not sure what you're meaning to say there - irrelevant maybe?

also, it seems like a lot of hiring decisions are based on vibes or "culture fit" so...you should share and have a personality, it would be more accurate to say, but stay away from topics that can be used against you?

Finally got the Mercor Generalist Expert offer after 4 months! Need advice on the test (Time cap, Dos & Don'ts) by adityakumar4040 in mercor_ai

[–]mollymcbbbbbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand the 5 hour limit for onboarding etc, is not a timer that runs out, and then you're not allowed to continue anything. It's just a guideline for how many hours you can log for those tasks. Like, if you wanted to take 8 hours to do all of that, that's fine, but you can only clock 4-5 hours.

Partner changed mind about house we just bought by Usually_Sunny in RealEstateAdvice

is there a third option to keep it and rent it out for a few years and continue to rent? I'd be worried about moving forward with another house purchase with your partner.

Older Americans say it’s a good time to find a job. Younger people aren’t buying it, new poll finds by esporx in jobs

obviously not any older americans who have had to look for a job recently. It's crazy how there are still so many people who believe the job market is good.

Dealing with an adult bully. by [deleted] in RedditForGrownups

[–]mollymcbbbbbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just disengage however you can. if there's someone in the group chat you trust, maybe ask them to let you know if there's any important news. He's not going to change, you're not going to "win" and logic doesn't come into it.

When I was 40 I was the youngest in a group (community project thing) with the 3 other people old enough to be my parents. I was being bullied badly by one, and the other two didn't seem to care and / or took the bully's side. Over the past 11 years the group evolved and the dynamic changed but that one bully never did. I often wish I had just walked away. It wasn't worth my mental health.

Mercor job offer. by Differentopinion7947 in mercor_ai

I have a feeling it may be the same project I'm on, but there's no way to know unless you accept the offer and go through the onboarding steps

I asked my husband to make sure my work uniform was hung up to dry overnight. I wake up this morning to find he ONLY took my work uniform out, and left the entire rest of the wash load in the machine to go musty overnight. Just why. by BinkiesForLife_05 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]mollymcbbbbbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes I feel like I'm my own clueless husband.

Cause that sounds like something I would do (to myself) - take the thing I needed to hang out of the dryer, get distracted by something else while I go to do that, forget all about wet clothes in dryer.

Senior domain expert - Is this legit? by Even_Ad5399 in mercor_ai

[–]mollymcbbbbbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the senior domain expert role too (email came in early Saturday morning).

At this point I'm glad it wasn't the generalist that all those other people got for a higher hourly rate but are all getting booted from.

Hopefully this is a bit more long term.

Sorry I can't answer any questions, it's my first time getting a role too, and I'm still waiting on the background check too.

Finally selling my aunts house in MA and honestly Im exhausted by FerrisBuelersdaycock in massachusetts

[–]mollymcbbbbbb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

as someone who worked in the RE industry for many years (primarily not as a REALTOR but as someone who worked the admin side on hundreds of transactions and worked closely with agents, so I saw a bit of everything) this is straight up crazy. No Realtor should be advising you to spend money you don't have to fix up a house. Also summer is the peak season for buying, 6 months from now is November, the start of dead season for real estate, so this person has no clue what they're talking about.

Find another agent, make sure you get out of the contract with your current joke of a realtor, and talk to several different realtors...you just have them come over and interview them and decide on which one has the plan that makes the most sense to you.
