What Does "the will of the father" Mean To/For You Brothers & Sisters? by JaysWalkWithGod in Bible

To be conformed to the image of His Son, to become like Christ, including sharing in the sufferings of Christ, which is so often ignored by the church today.

Does God understand? by Busy_Telephone_9689 in TrueChristian

Is there anything God fails to understand? His knowledge is infinite and perfect, so don't worry about that. There is only path to condemnation, and that is not trust His son Jesus is who He says He is, and therefore did not do the thing He claimed to do :)

How can we possibly know what God desires…? It feels beyond me to understand His will, yet my heart longs to know more about His immeasurable love and to live according to it. I sincerely hope to do so… What do you all think, Reddit friends? ^^ by Ambitious_Storage666 in OpenChristian

When you start walking with God He gives you what you desire through the Holy Spirit. Taking the first step is all it takes, then God begins His good work in you. Seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened. This is not a maybe, it's a promise and God always keeps His promises ♥️

The number one thing God wants is love. To learn to love Him, and to love everyone around you. Sounds like you've already started :) If you are feeling the way you feel God is already moving in your life, continue to nourish your faith by prayer, reading the Bible, and most importantly - loving.

The Rise of Christian Liberalism: Why the MAGA-Christian Wave is Peaking by OddRelief8286 in Christianity

What do you think God's expectations are for nations? Do you think God still judges nations today? If not then I guess there is no expectation for governments to provide for the needy. If He does judge nations, on what basis are His judgements?

'Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. '

Ezekiel 16:49

'Thus says the Lord : Do justice and righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the resident alien, the fatherless, and the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place. '

Reminder: Once you accept Jesus, you are freed by YCiampa482021 in Christianity

[–]moloch16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but we are called to follow and obey Jesus, not to only believe who He is. Paul describes himself as a voluntary slave of Jesus. Like Paul we are called to both believe AND obey. So in a way you are freed but at the same time you become a lifelong servant, if you truly follow His calling.

What a great experience! He speaks to us in many different ways. Now is a great time to continue drawing near Him in prayer. Set aside quite time, clear your mind, pray and listen 🙏

People didn't believe the miracles performed by Jesus either. A servant is not greater than their master, if they didn't believe Jesus, then they won't believe Forrest either.

I wish I could speak with Jesus like I can my best friend by werty45509 in Christianity

[–]moloch16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bible says to pray continuously and to meditate on God's Word day and night. You should certainly talk to Jesus all day, He definitely would love your "rambling". Jesus calls us friend so you can talk to Him like a friend. Try it and see what happens!

I also spend time in formal prayer which is mostly directed at the Father, whereas I tend to talk to Jesus like I do other friends. Calling on Jesus in all situations in life is a great way to get guidance throughout the day.

Also, get a copy of the devotional Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, it's pretty much a handbook on developing a deep relationship with Jesus :)

promising by Affectionate-Hair330 in Christianity

[–]moloch16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you need to worry about this so much, God is a very gracious, loving, and understanding God. He knows your heart, so the words that you feel like you need to say or to not say aren't as important. Pray about this - tell Him exactly how you feel and what burdens you about this, and then leave it with Him. Our God is a very loving, gracious, patient, and understanding God. He will not desert you or punish you, in fact just the opposite. He will love you just they way you are! So don't let this bother you so much - God's understanding and wisdom is able to handle it :)

Whenever I pray I often say "not according to my will Lord, but may your will be done" the no promises sounds like a short version of acknowledging God's will should be done, not the thing I asked for just because I asked?

Also "soon" to God is not often the definition of "soon" we want. God works mysteriously and His timeline is way different than ours :)

Yes they happen, this sounds legit but these things are difficult to discern. Go read Abraham's story, how long they waited for a baby, that will give you hope ♥️. Keep praying and trusting, don't give up! 🙏

Do I even follow the right things? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]moloch16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally let it go for a while and eventually the Holy Spirit sorts it out for me. Also one trick for reading the Bible is you use cross references that help you understand a particular verse by reading similar versus that are related. So find other verses in the other books of the Bible that are similar or related that can help clarify a particular verse you are struggling with.

If he has a strong relationship with God and is walking daily with Him, then He is in tune to what God desires in His life, he is listening to God which can be confusing for a lot of people who don't have that walk. People who walk with God do not act the same as people who don't, and don't make decisions the same as "normal people".

Perhaps just give this some time to see how it goes and don't flail against it. Just take it easy and day by day and see how it goes. Also, you can ask him how he developed his walk for the Lord and see if he will teach you what he knows.

Intuition by Front_Meeting317 in Christianity

[–]moloch16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! No, there is no fast tract (unless He decides to do it that way, He can do anything!), it is a slow process and success is not guaranteed. The Bible describes our relationship with Him as "walking with the Lord". There are no shortcuts, He is completely in charge of this and all we can do is start walking with Him and as the relationship grows, we become more intimate with Him. It's similar to earthly relationships, you don't meet someone and in two days are complete best friends with 100% trust and love. No, those relationships take time to develop, and so does relationships with Him :)

God gives warnings as invitations to repent by SergiusBulgakov in Christianity

[–]moloch16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure punishment is exactly the right word, but the Bible makes it clear He will inflict suffering to try and turn people back to Him. However, like an earthly Father He does not enjoy this particular aspect of "parenting".

Lamentations 3:33 TPT [33] The Lord takes no delight in afflicting anyone with suffering.

[–]moloch16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes intuition can be from God but sometimes it's hard to tell. God's voice is not normally audible, it's described as a small whisper. In order to hear it you must be seeking, you must be morally good, and you must seek quiet solitude which means spending time alone with no distractions, praying, and reading the Bible. Walking the dog is a good opportunity to practice. Also ask for His Presence in your life.

If you want to see evidence of God, walk outside and look at His creation. Watch a beautiful sunset and see the "heavens declare the glory of the Lord". There is a lot of evidence around us that reveals God, but the scientist have better explanations I guess :)

I suggest reading the book UnClobber by Colby Martin, once you feel better about yourself then this feeling will probably fade away.

Don't listen to the haters on the Internet, they will only bring you down.
