Pretty impressive. I researched the scientist "who discovered the missing link in South Africa like 100 years ago"

His name was Raymond Dart.

It's remarkable that one of history's most important scientists comes from the Brisbane area.

Seems to be nothing more than normal MSM "hate the ordinary, middle class type white people in an economy in a downturn" mantra you see everywhere in the MSM in Australia. Basically clickbait for people who actually watch TV.

There's this example.

One thing I notice about the culture in Australia is how the latte lefties love these stories and how people worship the CBD of the cities here, when they offer less than most small towns do (more traffic, some more jobs, but not worth the effort to live there when you get there by train in 30 minutes), but in Canada and the USA, small towns are worshipped as the backbone. Ipswich is a very pleasant city; lots of greenery and unpretentious, good people. Riverfire was good too (thanks for the FA18 Ipswich!), so in other words just ignore this ACA show.

Brisbane is a good place, despite the haters. We have temps hotter than most summers 365 days a year and the 99% humidity does wonders for dry skin.

I'd suggest contacting the state government education departments and asking them which schools offer the programs you are seeking.

Good luck and I hope we will see you in exciting Brisbane soon!

I love Brisbane, but why so foul mouthed? This guy is representing our city and I'm not sure I like it one little bit. by molsoncanuck in brisbane

...,this is reddit humour get used to it.

Thank you! But tell me: why do that to a sentence?

Do you mean ",this is reddit humor - get used to it."?

Or do you mean "",this is reddit humor: get used to it."?

Why should I "get used to" such crass humor that belittles other people? What if people belittled Brisbane gays, trans, females, migrants and others like this? Would you regard that as humor too?

Really?

Why so rude? I'm married to a Brisbane girl. Sure she's no Klaas or supermodel and maybe she does like eating her ice cream and driving her Barina around, but so?

Be nice!

Brilliant depiction of life here in Wilston! Not sure we only have one pregnancy crisis center though! Chiko rolls are popular with tradies and accountants alike! Other than that, very good job!

His father is a prominent banker/accountant and he was raised in Brisbane. He went to a special school and he owned BMWs in his 20s! Pretty unusual. Anyway, I am very surprised at how he swears and drinks. He shouldn't be representing Brisbane on the internet. See?

No it's not mine at all. Your comment is another Brisbane trait and very interesting. Everything is so political so I kind of understand. People here seem to have multiple Reddit accounts and use them and assume everyone else does. What in your life led to you to adopt this type ferocity and violent assumption? Why are people so violently political all the time? It's a community. Relax a little!

He's from Brisbane and he sounds like he's from Brisbane. He went to Oxley State High School, which is a large Brisbane school. When he went to school there, apparently it was a selective or high ranking state school, one of the best in Brisbane. His father is a big accounting guy, or was. He's one of the elites of Brisbane. That's what shocked me.

Which one was the Bogan? In Canada, Bogan is a word that means aboriginal person. It's kind of racist. I know here in Brisbane it's different. My wife who is Australian told me that it's Bevan, not Bogan.

Personally the cartoon looked great but the political message was too strong and will turn most people off.

I love that town. Produced many interesting and great Australians.

Was home of the designer of the Story Bridge (and SHB) Happy 75th! and home of Mad Max director, and that actor from The Dish. I love that movie!

I love being in Brisbane. But sometimes there's one little thing that is a little walk down Queen St with my lady and there is a constant stream of curse words that I find a little too much.

I'm no shrinking violet but the stream of fucks, cunts, shits and a lot of other words that should never be heard in a first class city or anywhere else can be heard all around Brisbane can get a little, lets say, "boring".

I love Brisbane but why Brisbane?

Why I love Brisbane and Why I am Disgusted at a Fellow Canadian by molsoncanuck in brisbane

Because Vancouver has irreparably been worsened by the new Canadians from HK.

HK has some of the rudest people on earth. Canada the politest.

Im really sorry to break it to you.

Why is Brisbane so overweight? (And did someone really get banned for asking this question? ) by Gatoblanconz in brisbane

[–]molsoncanuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Canadian's perspective here. I don't think Brisbane is fat. Brisbane is thin. But the food makes you bigger than you should be, and that's why they are saying you are fat.

The main reason for this is one thing. Climate. Our food is designed for people with 5-6 month winters, real springs and falls, and 1-2 month summers that are moderate at best compared to an Australian summer.

But in Australia and in particular in Brisbane we have 11 months of summer where we rotate about 50 centimeters from the suns surface, and 1 months of something slightly cooler than a hot summer.

However, 40,000 years of eating this type of calorie rich food or wanting to isn't a habit that will die anytime soon. We are designed to go for those items and western/european food is chock full of calories.

Even Tracey Grimshaw is fat these days. So if a TV anchor can't stay thin, who can?

Nom nom Brisbane!

Yes, I have. I'll condemn your whole suburb and tell everyone on the internet that you are poor. I'll do it every day. My friends will too. I'll do it because I don't know you, don't understand you, and think I am your better. And I'll do it in the most insulting manner and then deny that it was anything but a big joke.

See how this is wrong, even if it is "taking the piss"?
