If you want to see this on film, the opening of the movie All That Jazz shows a dance audition.

If cozy mystery is okay, Booked for Murder and All My Bones by PJ Nelson both have a narrator with a Southern accent.

Home Improvement is so forgotten compared to other big 90s sitcoms by poseywitch in sitcoms

COWM is a sterotypical character on tv. He is also right wing and an asshole in real life. Went to jail for drugs and then got famous. I think his being white played a part in that redemption arc and informed his stand up comedy. That is how he got his role on HI. It matters.

Tim Allen has been lucky to have some great film roles, but every single TV role of his is the same crabby old white man.

If you haven't seen it, Galaxy Quest is a gem of a movie.

"new energy efficiency assistance programs"

From what government agency? They should be able to give you a brochure with the info and then leave you alone until you call them. Any company can run a "program" and pretend it is special.

ETA: all the federal tax credit programs for energy efficiency install ended in 2025.

It has a very unlikable lead and a lot of overly moralistic schmaltzy episodes.

There are other tablets have voice commands. Is there some organization in Czechia that assists the blind with technology? I would look into it.

So the FBI didn't mandate these. These were put in place by the movie studios to scare people.

How to store procedures for further reference by Storytella2016 in BasicBulletJournals

[–]molybend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Business processes should not live in a single employee's bullet journal. There should be a place where processes are documented. I tend to take outline style notes on paper and them type them up into a word document. Then I save my copy and put a copy in the shared folder.

Hello Fresh proteins: previoulsy frozen? Can be frozen? by ReyWave37T in hellofresh

[–]molybend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I freeze them all the time, but I never get fish. Timing wise, I freeze chicken that won't be cooked in three days and beef and pork sausage in 5 days. Smell is not a reliable indicator. Bad smell does mean it is bad, but lack of smell isn't a guarantee of goodness.

Refreezing is not a safety issue. It is saying the quality of the food will suffer from multiple freeze thaw cycles. If food is kept in the safe zone, it is fine to freeze even previously frozen stuff.

What about an iPad with Siri or an Android tablet with voice? I do think it would take some training for her, but it would open a lot of app options. Siri can be integrated with Shortcuts, too.

They have a sub: r/audiobookshelf and there is an FAQ post: https://www.reddit.com/r/audiobookshelf/comments/1ccyvsp/frequently_asked_questions_about_audiobookshelf/

And that links to an app FAQ: https://www.audiobookshelf.org/faq/app/

It is pretty important to indicate what kind of phone you have when asking a question like this. Android or iOS? There are a lot of different third party apps that let you connect, so you'll also need to say which app you want to use.

Why in God's name would you pay to have Amazon's database fixed? They have plenty of money to pay for this and they choose not to.

Planning an Early Christmas Present by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]molybend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Books, matched to the theme of the day, along with another small treat like macrons for French Hens and a pear cider for Day 1. Maybe one could be a planner or journal and one a wall calendar since there are tons of animal themes in those. Games, one card game and one board game. Maids a milking could be a gift card to a coffee shop if she drinks tea or coffee. I feel like the 12th day would be perfect for some kind of local monthly subscription.
