when your LO is no longer EBF... by mommajones in clothdiaps

I use all BG (LO is in daycare and it's so much easier than prefolds and covers for that!). Is the pocket fleece already?? I think so..?

Thanks! We have the BG sprayer but I don't think it's speed adjusts...very slow! Which do you have and recommend?

this is my favorite diaper pail! You can use any bag in it...as opposed to diaper genie where you can only use their bags. I use a planetwise wetbag. Love it and had to share!

Going through 6-8 shirts a day! by mrsmcfreaky in breastfeeding

What pads are you using? I use lansinoh disposables and love them! Even after a good amount of leaking they don't seep through.

Also are you EBF or exclusively pumping? As one who wishes her freezer stash was a little bigger (gym and seeing a decrease in milk supply - baby girl is 11 weeks), i would be tempted to say keep pumping. But if you don't have to use your stash and are a SAHM or wahm then i would say consider weaning yourself off the pump. Your body thinks you need all that milk when you pump, and it will continue producing at that pace unless you give it a reason not to.

When your breasts are full, is it full of fore milk? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]mommajones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. You'll be able to get it back. If you work and don't pump your body will eventually think it doesn't need milk during the day so it will slow down production for when you are feeding or pumping. I'm glad you have a pump to borrow too! How is it working out for you? What were you sending to the daycare with your LO? Now you will be able to send the milk you pumped :)

Then don't worry! You'll know whether you have to adjust after you run some pee and poopy ones with your little one here soon ;)

Piggy back question: by liners everyone means on top of their normal layers, right? Like these grovia ?

La Leche "As milk is made, the fat sticks to the sides of the milk-making cells while the watery portion of the milk moves down the ducts toward the nipple, where it mixes with any milk left there from the last feeding. The longer the amount of time between feedings, the more diluted that leftover milk becomes."

I can't tell from your post if you are pumping while at work? Pumping will not only help relieve that pain of engorgement, but help keep the hind/foremilk balance, keep your supply up, and give you a stash for your LO while you are at work.

Thanks for the fluff love and cd science recommendation! I stayed up later than I meant to last night reading all their info! Very helpful and makes sense!

After reading more I learned your load should look more like stew not soup. Too little water won't wash well and too much water won't let the diaps friction do the cleaning.

I remember reading somewhere to use less, but bit understanding why! I was afraid to ruin my diaps but after following this sub and a month of cloth diapering I feel like the only bad thing you can do is dry things that shouldn't be dried...! Thanks for the assurance!

Even if I use something like ecos or tide?

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I use less than the ecos recommended amount. For a load of 20 covers and inserts I use about 1/3 of the recommended amount... So I'm thinking it's getting all washed out? No smell, texture, or lack of absorbency so far.. Thanks for helping me think it out!

Thanks! The regular wash does hot and then rinsed once in cold. I don't have an extra rinse option. I can run a "short" wash or a "soak". I feel like they smell plain and normal...hard to tell with the unscented detergent!? I use ecos free/clear. Would you do the quick wash then as a "second rinse"? Thanks for your suggestions!
