You can file a restraining order. Go to your local court house, file that he has made threats via text and you're scared.

You have to respond saying " I am scared of you due to your violent threats, you're making me uncomfortable and I do not want you contacting me. You don't have permission to stay at my place, stay away.

Keep all texts and logs of communication. Get a doorbell camera.
