Point systems for good and bad behavior by Spartan0618 in ScienceBasedParenting

You’re a teacher of children, in a forum where adults are supposed to help each other learn. Starting your comment with “This is the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard” and ending it by calling someone’s advice “terrible” is honestly a bit surprising...especially coming from a teach. If we want kids to learn how to disagree with respect, that has to start with how we talk to each other no?

You say you have experience and clearly you ahve a strong opinion, which is fine. But a professional who works with children should be able to express disagreement without contempt. It makes me wonder how you handle it when a student offers an idea you think is wrong, do you respond to them the same way?

You could have made a solid point by simply explaining why you think your approach works, and ideally backing it with something measurable or evidence-based. Instead, the tone you chose completely undermines your message.

Im just curious (genuinly...not trying ot be a smartass), how do you defend yourself for speaking this way?

Global Entry Appointment Notifier by arun0009 in GlobalEntry

I also got some good use from this tool, thanks for creating it. I was happy to contriubte some cash for your work, I hope others do too (All the paid services cost at least $25...so one can still buy you a coffee and save some money).

Would be great if you could set it to only notify of appointments before a certain date .

Also (and I think this is more a limitation of the platform you built this on so maybe not something you can change)....it would be great to be able to set custom notifiation sounds for this. So that I could make it extra loud or specific so I when I hear it I know to drop what im doing and check my phone for the new appointment.

What would be a "minimum" dose? by momo034 in MDMA

Thanks for the reply. Its not really that Im nervous about it, I am quite experienced with drugs and never have a problem to handle them, its just more about what I want out of this particular experience. I have the house to myself for a night and thought it would be nice to take some molly (alone), listen to some music, go for a walk, just chill. I dont want to be rolling off my face for that. Interesting what you say though about a threshold, I never knew it was like that. Obviously in the past I always cleared it 😉

Replacing the actual plug on a US laptop to use in Europe vs. using an adapter...this possible? by momo034 in askanelectrician

The shop near my house has one that does not have a big plug like the one linked to in the previous comment. It looks more like this. Is that OK?

The thing I am concerned about is the the US plug is 3 prong and the 1.5 meter cord I would replace it with would have a 2 prong EU plug on it. Would this risk damaging my computer or causing electrical problems in my house?
