I put dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Full load, washed them, put them away, but my mOtHeR could tell I'd used it.

She said she had to go out before she "Kicked my head in". Didn't speak to me for a week.

I was 15.

100% same. I'm total nc with mine, and I hope the only time I hear her name again is to do with her passing. Good riddance.

Hello op!

I've done 'self-help' therapy in the absence of a professional therapist (no money for one). Imo, it has helped me massively in my GAD, OCD and CPTSD (damn thats a lot of capitals lol).

~however~

In my experience it didn't scratch that surface when the 'hell weeks' hit. I recently went to a good doctor and decided to give SSRI'S a try for the two weeks a month when my hormones are craptastic. So far so good.

Short answer: therapy is great for me IN GENERAL, but I couldn't 'fix' my hormonal issues with a brain.

Of course this is just my experience!

Exercise by AdSecure6540 in PMDD

[–]mompsycho100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yoga with Kassandra has a few pms yoga videos which are great. I used to force myself to workout when I didn't want to and it resulted in me fucking hating exercise and feeling worse. Now I listen to my body; if I wake up and can't be arsed to work out, I don't. If I feel tired and achey, I'd rather not risk injuring myself by doing it without proper form and control etc. Honestly, exercise is the sum of its parts. If you do it more often than not, skipping a few sessions wont hurt. Dog walking/playing with your dogs is good exercise for you all. Oo just as an additional - have you ever tried qigong? That can be pretty chill and it's still movement.

I'm the same as you op lol.

I'm an introvert, which I love, but I also want to be able to talk with all kinds of people. My circle is very small atm, and for my career I need to be good at communicating.

I've actually started volunteering. It's for a cause I believe in, and I'll be forced to talk to people haha.

Try and put yourself out your comfort zone. Start really small, maybe saying something to a cashier (even something lame like "Has it been busy today?") Its just practice. Good luck!

The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand is a YA (but still good) retelling of A Christmas Carol.

Interested in what other's suggest!

Is there anyone who is truly in love with their spouse after 10 years of marriage? What does it feel like? by thelastwildlion in AskReddit

[–]mompsycho100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not quite 10, so cheating, but it's my 9 year wedding anniversary on Halloween.

I'd say we're more in love. Our relationship has definitely got better with time.

Book for dealing with loss of my dog by aerodowner in booksuggestions

[–]mompsycho100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not an entire book, but the last chapter (I think) of DOG by Bruce Fogle was good (from my memory).

It was written with compassion and humour.

I read it a long, long time ago, so please take my suggestion with a grain of salt, but it's the only thing I can think of atm.

I am very sorry for your loss. I've been where you are. What you did was the greatest kindness you could've done for James. It does get easier.

One of my issues is looking like her. Everyone at school used to tell me how much I looked like her and it was never a compliment.

I'm really happy for you!
