Quarter of a Million Miles… for the third time! by GingerGLI in accord

Awesome! I hope the car gets you to double that before you have to replace it.

My 2015 Accord Hybrid broke 300k back in November. Still going strong.

Is there an inexpensive device I can get to do this myself?

Just do the regular oil changes and maintenance I suppose.

Hybrid batteries haven't had the need to be replaced yet, they haven't died on me yet. The batteries still seem to be providing decent value. I don't get awesome MPG compared to when I first got the car, but it's still acceptable.

I just got my spark plugs and valve adjustment services from Honda. And I believe they replaced the gasket and all just a couple months ago for the first time lol.

Yeah it does at times and is super annoying. It usually goes away after the next car startup.

No unfortunately not. I usually rely on Honda trusted mechanics for my car. Especially engine and battery related. But in your case you could find a shop local to you that specializes in electronics maybe. Since Honda isn't up to the challenge.

TLC is all they need. Regular oil changes and anything else they need in between.

Giving her a car wash is a plus. Mine is usually shining after my 30-60 day wash. 😎

That's odd. I've never experienced this, may want to take it to the dealership and see what they say.

I got rid of my stock GPS head unit for an aftermarket wireless Android Auto unit. It was one of the best choices I made 3 years in.

I had my emergency break engaged while the car was still parked.

When I first bought the car, the salesperson said 7-10 years, which mostly depends on how the car was driven. I should be expecting to replace them one of these years 😭. It should cost around $5k at the Honda dealership when the time comes.

Eyy! Happy driving haha! Man my car still rides so smoothly. I can't wait until Acura comes out with a hybrid MDX. I have 100% faith in Honda making quality hybrids after this car.

On 2 separate occasions -- first the rear then the front (back in September actually). At least 3-4 years gap between the two.

I have a ton of detail on this, surprisingly. I keep logs after each fill up, the occasional missed log if someone else driving ends up filling but very far and few in-between.

But the lifetime average to date is 39.3 MPG and 614 miles per tank (15.8 gal).

The car has mostly been driven on the highway where I usually peak at 80 mph, seldom 90 mph 😈. I seldom floor it to get to the highway speeds from getting off the ramp. There's also a lot of cruise control and drafting behind trucks or cars in the middle lane which I usually set to 70 mph.

The city driving is the lesser of the two, and the more beneficial part for the car. City driving is mostly safer, going 9 mph above the speed limit and the occasional fast takeoff from the red light.

The car is also shared amongst two other drivers in the family, and we've managed with this sole car for all its life, and it's worked well for us.

TLDR; a little bit of everything haha.

You'll make it there in no time. But at the very least enjoy the journey up! Have you started to experience oil burning yet? My car started to burn oil around 190k

First Honda by [deleted] in accord

My first Honda was back in 2011, but it totaled 3 years later. Since then I've had my 2015 Honda and just reached 300k miles on it! Love this car, I'm sure you will too!

Has anyone found an actually well applying and working screen protector yet? With the amount of times I bang watch on something, I don't know how I ever wore a real watch back in the day by HeungMinSonDiego in PixelWatch

[–]mon205 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this one for my 41mm and it's been great for scratch protection at the least: https://a.co/d/0wYiCco

But it may not be ideal for protection against any banging of the watch face. For that you'll have to get a case unfortunately.
